Grade 2 students created their own unique yad (יד) Torah pointers during an in-school workshop with Creative Adventures Caravan. Through this hands-on experience, they explored the art of glassmaking, working with sheet glass, frit, stringers, and other colourful materials to bring their designs to life.

The traveling art studio provided students with an exciting opportunity to express their creativity while learning about a meaningful Jewish ritual object. After completion, their creations were taken back to the studio for kiln firing.

Students will receive their personally designed yad in celebration of their upcoming Torah Ora ceremony, making this special milestone even more meaningful.

Shabbaton 2026: A Recipe for Success

Take a group of enthusiastic Grade 6 students, add a generous helping of Jewish values and learning, mix in exciting sports and activities, stir with creativity and art, and top it all off with meaningful friendships and connections.

The result? An unforgettable Shabbaton weekend filled with laughter, growth, teamwork, reflection, and memories that will last long after graduation.

From learning and celebrating together to strengthening our sense of kehilla (community), our students experienced the special ingredients that make Edmonton Talmud Torah traditions so meaningful.

A recipe worth sharing. Camp BB-Riback

Supported by Talmud Torah School Council, Grade 2 students brought learning to life by planting flowers in the beautiful planters at the front of the TT building.

These planters, generously donated by the Anson family in memory of Howard Anson z”l, beautify and help secure our school grounds while honouring a meaningful legacy.

Through this hands-on project, students explored plant growth, responsibility, and the Jewish values of Shomrei Adamah(guardians of the Earth), and Tikkun Olam (repairing the world). 🌺🌸

Talk about ultimate friendship goals!

This incredible group’s tight-knit bond goes back decades, from celebrating Talmud Torah’s massive 75th Anniversary Homecoming Weekend back in May 1988, to their unforgettable 1999 reunion.

Years after graduation, the Class of 1961 is still going strong. They continue to gather in person, catch up online, and stay just as close as they were back in the day. No matter where life has taken them, TT keeps them bound together.

Talmud Torah school staff organized a warm and well-attended parent appreciation event that brought families together in a meaningful way and reflected the school’s strong Jewish values and supportive community spirit. As part of the celebration, students in Kindergarten through Grade 6 created personalized cup sleeves decorated with affirmations, kind messages, and colourful artwork. Their thoughtful creations reflected creativity, gratitude, kindness, and hakarat hatov (recognizing and appreciating others). The event provided a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the important role parents and caregivers play in the school community while strengthening the sense of connection, belonging, and support that defines the Talmud Torah community.

Our K–4 students experienced Traditions in Tunes, an engaging Métis cultural session where storytelling, music, spoon playing, and partner dance helped them explore rhythm, community, and tradition.

In When Beads Talk, our Grade 5–6 students learned the deeper meanings behind Métis beadwork while discussing the importance of Orange Shirt Day and Ribbon Skirt Day. Their beadwork became a hands‑on way to honour stories, identity, and resilience.
