Hilwie Hamdon’s Scholastic bookfair is open to families to shop on Thursday May 7th from 2:30-3:30 pm. While at the fair keep an eye out for our teachers wish list bins! Each bin has been carefully selected by teachers for their classroom libraries. You can help support your students reading journey by gifting one or more of these books to your child’s classroom!

Calling All Bookworms and Page-Turners!

Get ready to dive into a world of imagination, adventure, and… fundraising! Our Read-A-Thon is here, and it's not your average chapter—it's a magical mission where every minute spent reading helps our school grow!

From dragons and detectives to space explorers and silly squirrels, students will read their way through epic tales while collecting pledges from family and friends. The more minutes they read, the more support they earn—and yes, there are prizes for our most dedicated readers and top fundraisers!

So grab your favorite book, fluff up your reading pillow, and let the Read-A-Thon begin! Because when kids read, everyone wins—especially our school!

Please join us for our Remembrance Day Ceremony on November 10 at 10:45 am. Parent seating is near the gymnasium entrance.

We’ve noticed some serious safety issues in our parking lot and on the drive to and from school. A few extra seconds of patience could literally prevent a serious accident involving one of our students. Also, ensure your children are properly buckled in before the car moves. Every time. No exceptions.

Parking Lot Speed Limit: Slow down! Our parking lot is full of little legs and unpredictable movements. Please drive with extra caution and patience. A few seconds saved is not worth a trip to the emergency room.

Seat Belts are Non-Negotiable: Ensure your child is properly buckled in before the car moves and stays buckled until you are safely parked. It's the law, and more importantly, it saves lives.

Let’s work together to keep our students safe. We are all role models here. Drive smart. Buckle up.

School picture retake day is Friday, November 21.
This will be for students that missed picture day or would like to get a new individual photo.

We have set the dates for our monthly pizza hot lunches. We sell slices for $3.00 each. See the dates below for when students can purchase:

2025: Dec 3 and Dec 10
2026: Jan 14, Feb 4, Mar 26, Apr 15, May 13, June 17

We are excited to announce that our Parent Society has once again set up Healthy Hunger hot lunches for our students. To order for your child(ren), go to the Healthy Hunger website, create an account, add your child(ren) (with their homeroom teacher), and start ordering! All of the dates and the restaurants are on the website.

The Holiday Hamper Program partners with Edmonton Schools, the Christmas Bureau of Edmonton, and 880 CHED Santas Anonymous to support families in need during the holiday season.​​
