We believe in the concept of developing the head, heart and hands of the children.
At Wonder Well, we envision to develop resilient and compassionate children in a healthy and vibrant community where love and wonder are the basis of learning and living.

Exploring Creativity with Nature:
Children explored the beauty of chives flowers through art. We picked and brought some chives flower inside as inspiration and invited children to observe their shape, color and texture.
They painted green stems, tore purple tissue, crumpled and sticked the pieces to create their own flower.
It’s amazing to see how each of their artwork is a unique representation of how children see and interpret the world around them.
Same Day Last Year
I can’t believe it’s been a full 365 days since this was filmed. Still holds my whole heart. We miss you M. and L. So much 💕

Tricky Weather Today!
The sunshine convinced us this morning that it was a perfect day for a neighbourhood walk so off we went but not long after, it started to rain. Luckily we were close to home and made a quick dash back before getting wet.
But again as soon as we got home, the rain stopped so we enjoyed some creative chalk art on the driveway.

Learning Physics through Windy Day Process Art
It was a very windy day outside today with wind reaching approximately 30 km/h so we decided to explore the concept of wind through process art.
At first, children used pipettes to drop paint onto their paper. Then they blew the paint across the paper to create beautiful windy patterns with a straw. Finally, they blew colorful tissue paper pieces and watched them move and stick in different direction onto each other’s papers.
Through this hands on experience, children explored early concepts of physics such as force and motion. They discovered that although we cannot see wind, we can feel it and even create it ourselves by blowing air. They also observed how wind can move objects in the direction it blows.

Late post of Literacy Week 6
We wrapped up literacy project with the story “Jack and the Beanstalk”. We read the story together then children were encouraged to retell it using stick puppets of the characters while setting up scenes from the story. They enthusiastically participated by pretending to be different characters and practiced counting the beans as part of the storytelling experience.
Children also planted beans and painted castle which were placed in their cups alongside the planted beans using sticks. This will allow them to continue their storytelling as their beans begin to sprout and grow.
We also enjoyed some outdoor gross motor play through “Giant Play” where I provided large green pool noodles to represent beanstalks. children used them in various creative ways such as: playing pool noodle tag, holding them up high to reach the giant’s castle and looking through them as if peeking into the sky to see what the Giant was doing. At one point, an aeroplane passed overhead and the children excitedly imagined that the Giant had an aeroplane too. They also connected the pool noodles on the ground and practiced hopping from one end to other; building both coordination and imagination.

Late post of Literacy Week 5
Along with storytelling, we focused on recognizing, naming and sorting colors specially for younger children to help prepare them for a real easter egg hunt. Children explored colors by looking through cardboard color lenses and searching in a bin to find eggs that matched the color of their lense. Later we enjoyed a fun group color easter egg hunt. The older children in the group engaged in retelling the story “Five Bouncing Bunnies“. As a group we also practiced our writing and creative skill through freehand painting by creating carrots for our bouncing bunnies.
