The pots survived the glaze fire.

Now I get to pack them up for you and then you can pick them up tomorrow Aug 21 after noon at the pool front desk.

The pots are in the kiln for their bisque fire.

During a bisque fire I increase the temperature very slowly.
This ensures that any moisture still in the clay has time to escape.

If not, the moisture boils/expands quickly and the pots explode! .😬

Let's not do that, ok.

So they will slowly warm at level one for 4 hrs, with the lid propped open and the vents open.

This will take 10-12hrs to complete. Then it takes another 10 -12 hrs to cool down.

The pots are drying slowly but surely!

It looks like they are headed into the kiln on Monday for a bisque fire

The kit includes cone 6 clay
Basic tools
Vinegar to make slip
A template and an album of video and image instructions.

This is the perfect creative project to have you imagination run wild!

A little frog lives on mine? Who will live in your toadstool mushroom?

This project is ideal for someone who lives close by, or comes to Barrhead often because you will need to drop at my house so I can fire it for you and then pick it up again when done.

So bargain on two more trips to town to get it done!
