The University of Alberta is doing a study to find a more accurate blood pressure machine for pregnant women, individuals who have had a stroke or heart attack, individuals on dialysis as well as individuals with atrial fibrillation. The whole appointment takes about an hour ( they takes your height and weight, and write down any medications or medical history you have) They reimburse for parking as well as give you $25 cash for participating! We are a research group out of the University of Alberta, focusing on ways to improve blood pressure measurements. Email:[email protected]
We plan to study how the accuracy of automatic blood pressure monitor compares to standard blood pressure measurements in obese individuals. You may qualify if you:
Are over 18 years of age
Have a mid-arm circumference 25-52 cm
Have a regular heart beat
Have a BMI > 40
An honorarium will be provided for your participation in the study. If you don't know if you qualify, call and find out! We will reimburse you for your parking.
