The rain stopped and the sun shone down this week on campus, and our Facilities and Maintenance Crew wasted no time in organizing and mobilizing a window washing crew at SJC. The SJC Main Building & Men's Residence and Women's Residence had all their windows cleaned. No small feat at any height!
One of many preparations taking place as we look forward to welcoming Students to SJC in two weeks for the start of a new academic year!

What started last summer with new windows in the boardroom has wrapped up this spring with a beautifully upgraded space: fresh paint, new flooring, modern tables/chairs, and a new projector system. We look forward to putting the refreshed space to use!

On the afternoon of Convocation at the University of Alberta, May 14, 1926, The Edmonton Journal reported on the turning of the first sod in preparation for the construction of a new Catholic college, St. Joseph’s College. Dignitaries at the sod-turning ceremony included Archbishop O’Leary, Brother Alfred, the Lieutenant-Governor of Alberta, the Honourable William Egbert, Mr. Justice Beck, the Chancellor of the University, and Henry Marshall Tory, president of the University of Alberta.
Brother Alfred wielded a spade, and then His Grace and His Honour together turned the sod.
A century later, we continue the legacy started that day. As SJC prepares to celebrate its 100th anniversary starting in September 2027, we will share milestones that have shaped our story.
