I was able to spend a few days last week with an amazing group of nurses and physicians in the gorgeous small town of St Paul, Alberta.
Rural medicine is incredibly unique in many aspects; resource management and quick decision making combined with limited access to personnel and equipment is quite the balancing act.

We are blessed to have the support of RhPAP; Rural Health Professions Action Plan. This organization focuses on helping rural Albertans keep healthcare close to home. RhPAP helps to fund continuing education courses to those who choose to practice in smaller communities across our province of Alberta.

For more information about RhPAP and the wonderful opportunities they are providing for rural health practitioners please visit their website. https://rhpap.ca

If you belong to a rural health care team, and are interested in what education opportunities I can bring to your doorstep please reach out, I would love to talk to you more!

My name is Brittany Weise, I am a Registered Nurse with a passion for resuscitation science and education. I have had the privilege to work with many diverse teams throughout the province of Alberta, from prehospital, remote and rural to tertiary care and high performance critical care.
I am a certified instructor for Heart and Stroke Association, Emergency Nurses Association and ITLS. I currently teach BLS, PALS, PEARS, ACLS will offer CTAS, TNCC, ENPC and ITLS Basic and Advanced in the near future.

As a working frontline nurse, I am keenly aware of the potential barriers to education and training that exist, especially in rural settings. I am outfitting a mobile simulation lab that will enhance accessibility to a wide variety of sites across the province.

For the past 7 months I have been engaged in education for a wide variety of students and practitioners. I have the experience necessary to tailor each course to meet the unique needs and scope of practice for all medical professionals, including prehospital, rural, urban and dental health professionals.
