Last night, a group of our students and staff had the opportunity to attend the Junior Achievement Northern Alberta Business Hall of Fame Gala.
One of the things we value most at STEM Collegiate is connecting learning to the real world. The stories shared throughout the evening highlighted the innovation, perseverance, leadership, and entrepreneurial spirit that drive success, not just in business, but in any field. It was an inspiring experience for our students and staff to hear directly from leaders who have helped shape Northern Alberta and to reflect on the opportunities that lie ahead for the next generation.
We are grateful for our partnership with JA Northern Alberta and the incredible work they do to help students build financial literacy, entrepreneurial thinking, career readiness, and leadership skills. Their programs create meaningful opportunities for students to explore their potential and see how their learning today can shape their future tomorrow.
Funny how the only school in attendance was assigned Table 67. Coincidence? Probably. Hilarious? Apparently so.
Thank you to JA Northern Alberta for a fantastic evening and for your continued commitment to inspiring young people across our province.

Congratulations to Jainika on an outstanding achievement at the Canada-Wide Science Fair!
We are incredibly proud to recognize Jainika’s success at the Canada-Wide Science Fair, where her project earned two major awards:
🥈 Silver Excellence Award in the Intermediate category
🏆 Youth Can Innovate Award
Her project, “B.A.R.T.: Biomarker Analysis for Respiratory Testing in Early Detection of Orodental Disease,” reflects the kind of original, applied STEM thinking that we are so proud to see from our students.
The Youth Can Innovate Award is part of the top-tier Grand Awards and recognizes highly original STEM projects that move beyond theory toward practical, real-world applications with the potential to advance society.
Jainika’s hard work, curiosity, and commitment to meaningful research are an excellent example of what STEM learning can look like when students pursue challenging questions with purpose.
Congratulations, Jainika. We are so proud of you!

For the past two days, we have had the privilege of participating in the Canada-Wide Science Fair at the Edmonton EXPO Centre. It has been an incredible opportunity to connect with students, families, educators, and STEM enthusiasts from across Canada. The event brings together nearly 400 of the country’s top young innovators and researchers, showcasing the future of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
What stood out most was the excitement and curiosity of the students we met. From discussing career pathways and hands-on learning opportunities to sharing what makes STEM Collegiate unique, every conversation reinforced why we do what we do.
At STEM Collegiate, we believe students learn best when they can see how their education connects to their future. Events like the Canada-Wide Science Fair remind us that Canada’s next generation of innovators is already hard at work solving real-world problems and asking big questions.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth, shared their ideas, and learned more about our school. We left inspired by the creativity, passion, and potential on display throughout the fair.

Last week, we were proud to be part of the Alberta Aviation, Aerospace & Defence Summit at the Edmonton Convention Centre.
Our high school Innovative Engineering students had the opportunity to showcase one of the incredible projects they have been creating, including work connected to aviation, drones, and real-world Arctic infrastructure challenges.
We are grateful for opportunities like this because they allow students to move beyond classroom theory and engage with authentic industry problems, technical feedback, and future career pathways.
Thank you to Alberta Aviation, Aerospace & Defence, Pegasus, UCan Brave Tech, and Scope AR for helping create meaningful connections between students, industry, and innovation.
This is exactly the kind of learning we are working to expand at STEM Collegiate: rigorous academics, hands-on design, industry connection, and meaningful opportunities for students to see where their skills can take them.
