During the school year at the Scuola Italiana, children learn and develop “school ready” skills as they learn Italian language and culture, immersed in an English/Italian Bilingual setting.

E poi abbiamo festeggiato! Un anno pieno di emozioni, avventure, e tanto impegno per imparare e apprezzare la nostra lingua e cultura italiana. We are so grateful for our students and families who have made our Scuola Year 2025/2026 a great year! Our students ran the evening as MCs, Stage Directors, and Evening Greeters alongside our Performers and then it was a dance party like no other! Grazie mille to Santa Maria Goretti Centre Bliss Baked Goods shoobys.gelato for a delicious night and Dwain Ramsaran Joseph Filiplic and .cas for being the most APVs EVER 🤗 ☀️🎉 ☀️

13th Annual Community-Based Heritage Language Schools Conference
October 2-3, 2026
The Coalition of Community-Based Heritage Language Schools is excited to announce that registration for the 13th Annual Community-Based Heritage Language Schools Conference is now OPEN! This conference brings together everyone who is interested in learning about, collaborating with, and advocating for community-based HL schools. Participants typically include directors and administrators of community-based HL schools, teachers, members of the language communities, representatives of public schools, researchers in the field of HL education, and leaders of national language organizations.
The conference will be hybrid, held both on site at American University in Washington, DC and online on Friday and Saturday, October 2-3, 2026. To find out more, see the attached flyer, explore the conference website and register now! Early-Bird discount for in-person tickets is available till August 31.
All conference participants will receive the book Bridging Worlds: The Power of Heritage Languages in Social Cohesion. On-site participants will receive a hard copy of the book and online participants will get free access to the e-book.

Ecco la Classe di Giovedì! True to who we are, it was a busy and glorious night ! Giugno è arrivato e siamo super felici for all the sorprese to come as we get ready with our Festa di Classe di Giovedì and our Festa Fine Anno!! Ma prima, lots more learning to do and having glorious moments with our compagni di classe 🤗❤️🤗
