Farm Tuff Tray Activity!!

We set up a farm-themed tuff tray by adding paint and a variety of farm animals. The children explored making marks by using the animalsโ€™ hooves to print and create patterns in the paint. Toward the end of the activity, we introduced a small amount of water, enhancing the sensory experience and encouraging further exploration.

Melting Polar Ice Caps: Creating an Interactive Tray

This activity was designed to develop the concept of global warming and climate change. Children watched a block of ice slowly melt in the sunlight, simulating the melting of polar ice caps. This process was enhanced and accelerated by adding warm water and a dropper. The children also used rulers to measure the surrounding water level, helping them understand the rise in sea levels caused by melting ice caps.

This activity stimulates several aspects of learning, including communication and language, personal, social, and emotional development, physical development, and an understanding of climate and weather changes.

Today in the toddlers room ๐Ÿงธ, children learned about prayer and the mosque ๐Ÿ•Œ through coloring and storytelling ๐Ÿ“–. We read I Can Pray Anywhere and talked about how Muslims pray ๐Ÿคฒ at home and in the mosque. Children colored mosque and prayer mat pictures ๐ŸŽจ๐Ÿ–๏ธ while practicing focus and creativity โœจ. We introduced simple words like Prayer, Mosque, Ramadan ๐ŸŒ™, and Sajadah. This activity supported fine motor skills โœ‹, hand eye coordination ๐Ÿ‘€, and helped children connect with Islamic values in a gentle way ๐Ÿค.

๐ŸŒ™ Mosque & Prayer Activity โ€“ Toddlers Room ๐Ÿ•Œโœจ

Today our toddlers learned about Ramadan and prayer with a focus on the mosque ๐Ÿ•Œ. Children colored the green dome ๐Ÿ’š and threaded ribbon through the golden square on the mosque template.

We focused on key words: Prayer, Ramadan, Mosque, Dome, Prayer Mat, while supporting fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.

This activity allowed early childhood children to explore artifacts associated with the month of Ramadan through creative and sensory play. The shimmering purple sand represented the night sky, creating a vibrant and visually appealing base. Wooden Ramadan decorations, including mosques, a Ramadan banner, crescent moons, and stars, were placed on the sand. The children used their fingers and writing sticks to carefully draw the shapes, outlining and highlighting each design. This process supported the development of fine motor skills and encouraged concentration, creativity, and keen observation. The finished pieces were a beautiful reflection of the spirit and beauty of Ramadan, showcasing the children's growing skills and their conscious engagement with the theme of the month.

Creating an Interactive Ramadan Tray
Since it's Ramadan, we thought it was a great time for the children to make a crescent moon out of clay and place it among twinkling stars and cosmic dust. They enjoyed listening to an explanation of the importance of Ramadan and the svmbolism of the crescent moon and star, and thev learned about the shapes of a mosque, a lantern, and a coffee pot. They also enjoyed sensory play with the interactive tray.
This activity stimulates many aspects of learning, including communication and language, personal, social, and emotional development, physical development, understanding the world and cultures, and expressive arts and design.

Children learned that the crescent ๐ŸŒ™ marks the start of the month, the star โญ represents the Ramadan night sky, and lanterns ๐Ÿฎ bring light and joy during this special time for Muslim families. This activity supports fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, focus, and introduces important Islamic symbols in a simple and meaningful way.
