And I find it all so crazy…
How we toss and turn in this life- finding our way.

I wonder if it was ever meant to be easy/ or clear/ or simple.

I wonder if we are meant to cry out- and ask for joy… ask for grace… ask for more-
Daily.

I wonder too…
If we need to see how it all shows up again- and again- and again…
This goodness that chases us-
that fights for us-
that reminds us-

There is nothing too large- too scary- too big-
there is nothing you will face that is not exactly there for you-
meant for your growth.

When things begin to unfold, which you thought could never be beautiful again, and you see them stretch before your eyes and become better than anything you could have ever imagined or hoped for, you will wonder how you could have ever doubted His plan.

Just like the sunshine that rises every single morning-

And so I will rise.
And you will to my love.

Dear 2021, you were beautiful and strange and overwhelming and peaceful and noisy and most of all — unexpected, in so many ways. for me, you were the year of family…of coming home…of welcoming a new life . You were a chapter of newness…of saying hello, and also goodbye.

and for all of us, I think 2021 was about taking care of each other. We loved and we forgave and we held each other in hope.

Thanks for being here, in this small corner of our little family’s sphere. Here’s to all of the little things you’re wishing for in 2022 that become your big, beautiful life.

I say life is a story.
And we are the authors.
We create every moment.... we make it beautiful- exceptional.... perhaps even extraordinary. We have little windows every day... ordinary moments.... waiting for our magic. I tell my little one often.... it does not come and find you- this extraordinary life. You breath it out- every-single-day.

May we always remember those who gave for us to experience this beautiful life.

WEDNESDAY//- night paint night! Well at least our version!

Of all the things I do well- in this great big beautiful world... I am by far the very best at being your Mamma.
Late night homework nights- it reminded me of how far we’ve come.

My goodness... how we’ve grown.
And you have these bright eyes that shine- with the sense of awareness.
Awareness that we traveled together- over mountains and through fields- and past forests and through valleys. Sometimes it was so very dark- but you were brave. And sometimes the sunshine was so warm and real and present... that we would just stop and turn our faces to it.
Together- Just us... and all the beauty of new beginnings.
Of all the things I do well...every last one of them- begins and ends with you.

Gratitude… today… and every day.

I truly believe we have these days we are given- one at a time-
and regardless of whether they show up exactly as we hope-
they show up.
So we then too can show up…

There is nothing easy for any of us- it’s okay to note- that it can be hard.
But I believe that is our calling-
to walk through hard with a soft heart.

To chase the things we love- relentlessly.

To watch our children wake up- unaware and ready for the little bits of goodness.
Sometimes for my son- it’s fresh chocolate chip pancakes-
waiting on the island.

There is beauty there.
Little surprises that light up your family-
and make you feel whole.
There is no perfect story/
but there are these days… one after another- offering us a pallet to create something beautiful in…

I’m grateful for today.
Im grateful for my family-
the ones I did not choose and those I did.

I’m grateful for my story. For him and my son. For the journey we’re been on and for the one were still creating.
