What a FUN way to spend the first Friday in June! ☀️

Our school spent the day outside participating in Mini Legends competitions and challenges. We were so lucky that the rain held off for most of the day, allowing us to enjoy all the activities, teamwork, and excitement.

To make the day even better, students enjoyed a delicious hot dog and chips lunch before heading back out for more fun! 🌭

There were plenty of smiles, laughter, and school spirit all around. We had an amazing day and made some great memories together!

🌾🫓 As part of National Indigenous History Month, Grade 3B enjoyed a meaningful hands-on learning experience making bannock with Ms. Darian Swampy.

Ms. Swampy generously shared her recipe, techniques, and knowledge with our students, helping them learn about the significance of bannock and the important role that food, culture, traditions, and community play in many Indigenous cultures.

Throughout National Indigenous History Month, students at OLMC are learning about the histories, cultures, contributions, and diverse perspectives of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit Peoples. Experiences like this help bring learning to life and deepen our understanding and appreciation of Indigenous ways of knowing and being.

Thank you, Ms. Swampy, for sharing your time, knowledge, and traditions with us!

💛🖤From 1925 to today, Our Lady of Mount Carmel has been home to a century of stories, faith, learning, and community.

This past Thursday, we celebrated a truly special milestone of 100 years of OLMC. Students, staff, families, alumni, and community members came together to honour the school’s rich history and lasting legacy.

We were especially blessed to receive an Apostolic Blessing from Pope Leo XIV in recognition of this remarkable anniversary. In the evening, the school opened its doors to welcome former staff and students, who shared cherished memories and stories from their time at OLMC.

As we celebrate the past 100 years, we look forward with gratitude and hope to the next century of learning, faith, and community. ❤️
