TEMPO School Edmonton

TEMPO School Grade 4 students are reviewing a Math test today with Mr. Stevens. They are working on adding, subtracting, and rounding decimals, along with long division.

TEMPO School hosted 15 schools from Edmonton and the surrounding area at a Reach for the Top quiz event today. Congratulations to the TEMPO Intermediate team, who placed first, earning a trip to Provincials next month! Thank you to all our student and teacher volunteers for making this a special event for all competitors.

TEMPO School Grade 10 students are performing a 10-minute speech in French today. Mme. Mouffok says she is very proud of how hard the class worked to prepare for this moment.

Irshad Sayed is one of four TEMPO School students participating in ADSA Debate Provincials later this month. Irshad placed first as an individual speaker at the Edmonton Senior High Debate Regionals. Congratulations to all our students who will be making the trip to Calgary for the upcoming tournament!

It takes courage to recite poetry in front of an audience of your peers. Upper School students did an outstanding job today during their Poetry in Voice competition.

TEMPO Leadership Club students are taking a two-day course with Red Cross staff to become Youth Facilitators in the organizations Beyond the Hurt Program. Through lessons, activities, and videos, this program engages all youth in efforts to prevent bullying, whether they are victims, bullies or bystanders, and focuses on building positive and respectful relationships.

Did you know that TEMPO School offers more than 30 after-school programs to students? The programs run from September to December and again from January to April. In Chess Club this week, we learned how to record our moves during games.

TEMPO Grade 9 students are learning about the properties of minerals today. Mr. Kitching and the University of Alberta provided several different samples for our students to examine.

Mrs. Higgins is teaching her Grade 12 students to factor expressions with rational exponents in the early stages of Math 31.

Reminder: Semester two begins tomorrow! Upper School students, please return your textbooks by the end of the week.
