Paper Bag Haircuts:
( Oops… We Created Some Baldies! 😂✂️)

Today’s fine-motor fun came with a little haircut adventure ! The children gave paper-bag faces a fresh new look by carefully snipping their paper-strip “hair” with scissors. They explored different types of scissors, discovering which ones felt most comfortable with their hand grip and cutting style.

The best part? They were so proud of their freshly “bald” friends and couldn’t stop laughing as they called them their “baldies”! 😂

A simple activity that brought lots of smiles while strengthening hand muscles, scissor control, coordination, and confidence. ❤️

Alphabet Hunt in the Sensory Bin:

Children explored letters through an engaging sensory activity using rice, alphabet popsicle pieces, and loose alphabet letters. They practiced letter recognition, identifying uppercase and lowercase letters, vocabulary words, and matching letters to the corresponding alphabet sheet. Children also enjoyed searching for and placing the letters in the rice, making this a fun, hands-on literacy and sensory learning experience.

Birthday Cake Craft 🎂🎉:

What better way to celebrate than with creativity🤩!

Today the children designed and decorated their own birthday cakes using stickers, buttons, glue, and plenty of imagination. Every cake was completely unique, showing off each child's creativity and personal style. We can't wait for these colourful masterpieces to head home with their little artists!

Happy Birthday to Our Moana Princess!

Today we are celebrating Rina's 4th birthday. I know we celebrated it with all of our friends recently since some kids are away this week after graduation and vacation. She arrived looking just like Moana with Hei Hei and Pua by her side! 🌺 She also generously shared delicious snacks including some Filipino treats, giving all of us the opportunity to enjoy and appreciate a taste of her culture.

Thank you Rina and family for helping us celebrate diversity through food, traditions, and joyful moments. Wishing you a year filled with happiness, laughter, and wonderful adventures!

Neighborhood Adventures:

Outdoor experiences encourage active play, problem-solving, social interaction, and a deeper appreciation for the natural and community environments children explore each day.

Fresh air, movement, and opportunities to explore the community help children build confidence, strengthen their bodies, and develop curiosity about the world around them.

Fill the Color Jars:
( Color Match & Counting Fun with Dot Stickers)

Children enjoyed a fun and engaging color-matching activity. They matched dot stickers to the correct colored “jars” and filled each jar with the matching dots.

This activity encouraged color recognition, counting, number recognition, and fine motor skills as children practiced peeling and placing the stickers carefully. They explored spatial awareness as they decided where to place their stickers inside the jars, creating their own unique designs. They also worked on hand-eye coordination, focus, and problem-solving while creating their colorful jars. A simple activity that brought lots of excitement and learning!

Loose Parts Play:

The children explored a new loose-parts material called Flower Snaps today and they were excited to discover all the different ways the pieces could connect together.

What started as simple flower connections quickly turned into colorful lollipops, letters, shapes, and many imaginative creations. As they experimented with the pieces, the children strengthened their fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, color recognition, problem-solving abilities, and creativity.

It was wonderful to watch their ideas grow and blossom as they explored this open-ended invitation to play and create.

My heart is so full of gratitude today. ❤️

A heartfelt thank you to Inaya’s family for the beautiful farewell gift and the handwritten card filled with such thoughtful and meaningful words. The gift was incredibly thoughtful and included things I truly enjoy, but what touched me the most was the love, appreciation, and kindness expressed through your message.

Over the years, it has been such a joy and privilege to be a part of Inaya’s journey. Watching her grow, learn, and blossom into the wonderful little girl she is today. Moments like these remind me how special the connections we build with our dayhome families truly are.

Thank you for your trust, support, and for making my dayhome journey so meaningful. The memories created along the way will always hold a special place in my heart. 💕🙏

A Heartwarming Surprise on a Special Day:

Today was our beloved dayhome girl’s last day at dayhome as she gets ready to begin her next adventure in kindergarten. To make the day even more special, her family brought a wonderful surprise for all the children - a delicious lunch, yummy snacks, and thoughtful goody bags for everyone. The children were so excited and surprised! They thought they had already celebrated enough, but this turned into a second little party filled with smiles, laughter, and happy hearts. 🥰

A big thank you to her mom and family for this incredibly kind and thoughtful gesture. Your generosity and kindness made our dayhome children feel so special, and we truly appreciate you thinking of everyone on such an important day.

It has been such a joy and privilege to be part of her early years. We will miss her valued presence, but we are so excited to see all the wonderful things she will accomplish in kindergarten. 💕
