Money Doesn't Grow On Trees Giving your child or grandchild the tools to learn about money is the best gift you can give them I am an entrepeneur, mother and grandmother.

Rather than teaching our children financial literacy our society teaches them to be consumers and live in debt setting them up for a lifetime of struggle. Why are these critical skills that every child will need to survive every day of his or her life not taught in school? Parents who themselves have not been taught these skills cannot teach them to their children. The futures of our children and grandchildren depend upon us, as parents and grandparents, to break this cycle so that our children and grandchildren can grow to be financially independent. As a single mom I struggled to provide for my children. My parents, though they loved me, themselves were never taught about money management so could not teach me the skills that would have made my life easier and which I could have taught my children. As every parent knows, watching your child struggle is the hardest thing you can go through. I have watched my children learn financial lessons the hard way because I did not have the money management skills to teach them. I have decided that this cycle has to be broken and hope to help other parents and grandparents find the tools they need to teach their children and grandchildren the financial skills that they will need every day of their lives.
