Trade Winds to Success is hiring a Lead Carpentry Instructor to join our Residential Construction Program in Edmonton! 🔨

We’re looking for an experienced Journeyperson Carpenter who is passionate about sharing their skills, mentoring others, and helping the next generation of tradespeople succeed.
Help empower Indigenous learners through hands-on residential construction training while building eco-smart small homes, skills, careers, and brighter futures.

Give a big Hello to the Women who have just started the Electrical Pre-trades Program!

We are so excited to be able to offer our second women's electrical program. This training looks to provide industry-ready skills and the confidence to launch lasting careers as electricians.

A huge thank you to Eagle Healing for getting this group started on the right note by sharing in culture, knowledge and experience as they embark on their career paths in the skilled trades.

An amazing day celebrating our graduates as they finish their training and begin their journey to careers in the skilled trades. These students completed our Residential Construction/Carpentry Program with experience, skills and the knowledge to start their carpentry apprenticeships.

A special thank you to Site Resource Group for sponsoring this graduation and spending the afternoon with all of us.

This pre-trades program is tuition free and participants gain careers skills and hands-on training that prepares them for a career in the Carpentry trade.

We had the honour of gathering with our incredible Elders, who have supported the Trade Winds program and its participants by sharing their teachings, stories, guidance, and lived experiences.

Through their generosity and wisdom, our Elders help students connect with culture, strengthen their sense of identity, and carry Indigenous knowledge forward. Their presence and teachings are an important part of the Trade Winds community, and we are deeply grateful for the impact they have on our students, staff, and programs.

We welcomed our Elders to the Trade Winds office for a special lunch — an opportunity to share a meal, spend time together, meet our staff and students and most importantly, express our sincere appreciation for all that they do.

Yesterday was Alberta Apprenticeship Day and an especially exciting day at Trade Winds, with three pre-trades training programs kicking off: our Pipe Trades program, Women’s Electrical program, and Ironworkers program.

We were honoured to welcome Kathryn Andrews, Director of Apprenticeship Education and Pathways, to our Edmonton office. Kathryn spent time connecting with our Pipe Trades participants, our Women’s Electrical students, and our Residential Construction students who are in their last week of the program. Meanwhile, in Calgary, Minister of Advanced Education Myles McDougall visited with our Ironworkers program and connected with students beginning their journey in the trades.

A huge thank you to Kathryn Andrews and Minister Myles McDougall for taking the time to visit our students and recognize the importance of apprenticeship and skilled trades education across Alberta.

And, most importantly, congratulations to everyone who started their training yesterday! We’re excited to see where your skills, hard work, and determination take you.

A huge thank you to Linkwell Insurance Group for inviting us to be a hole host at their annual golf social at The Quarry Golf Course! ⛳️

We had a great time connecting with everyone who played and participated in our 50/50 raffle.

We are also deeply grateful to receive a generous donation from the tournament. Support like this goes a long way in helping us further our goal to provide holiday food hampers for the students in our program.
