Most practitioners won’t agree or like this post.

However most patients will.

If your practitioner is running 2-3 rooms, ask to book in with them when they are solely available just for you.

Regardless of how nice they are, or how much new information they pass onto you, or how many positive reviews they have. The secret to a transformative treatment is TIME spent with the patient.

A practitioner only hones their craft, understands the patient, see’s what is not being said, when they get to know you.

As a practitioner, you CAN practice this way, and make a living. AND you won’t burn out.
You need to find a clinic that does not have high overhead costs.

As a patient, how many times have you tried a few practitioners, and then chose the best fit for you?

Most of us spend a large amount of time looking for cars, houses, schools, jobs, etc.

It should be no different for a care provider.

This is why patients seek out our style of care. Lives change. Not just a resolve of an ailment….that will most likely come back again, or come out on a different way because the root cause hasn’t been addressed.

“Time does not change us, it just unfolds us”.

Often you can find a study to suit what you are looking for…

The most common studies referenced within acupuncture and fertility pertain to IVF/IUI protocols.

The most common protocol is pre and post transfer. With studies completed onsite. Meaning that a patient receives acupuncture and IVF/IUI within the same clinic, on the same day.

The majority of IVF clinics in Canada do not have Acupuncture on site. Yet most acupuncturists encourage acupuncture pre and post transfer.

Often, a patient will drive to an acupuncture clinic, receive a treatment, drive to the fertility clinic for an embryo transfer, then drive back to the acupuncture clinic for another treatment.

Perhaps this has become an outdated practice and way of serving the patient.

Over the last 20 years, Fertility has become increasingly complicated, as we encounter more and more factors that have increased infertility rates ( ). Yet practitioners spend less and less time with their patients. This also applies for onsite acupuncture.

Ideally, we should try to mimic natural intimacy as often as we can with IVF/IUI transfers.

If applicable; both partners should be in the room, laughter and care should be integrated, music should be used, etc.

Studies show that “Clown Medicine” is excellent for IVF/IUI success.

I often suggest acupuncture and laughter on the day of a treatment. However if the the driving is too much, I suggest skipping acupuncture all together.

This isn’t good for business, but it is good for the well-being if a human.
AND success rates.

Doing acupuncture 1-2 days pre or post transfer is ideal. Spending at least 1 hour with your patient. Giving them your undivided attention.

Seeing a care provider 2-3 months before your transfer is optimal.

What type of support feels the most appropriate?

Something to ponder.

Morning Dew.
Tiny water droplets collect on the grass and flowers in spring.
Many cultures consider this sacred medicine.
Most of us in North America will not understand how this small amount of water could do anything to support us.

Yet, when we hear “many diseases are the result of the individual being out of ailment with their Soul.”
If we stop long enough to ponder it. It certainly lands.

Morning Dew has been used by many indigenous and traditional cultures for centuries.

Water holds an immense amount of support for our wellbeing.
In many different ways.
Similar to a homeopathic, the dew is infused with the plant or flowers bio-energetic properties.

Some are familiar with Bach remedies.
Dr. Edward Bach was a British Physician in the 1930’s.
After years of working with patients he believed that “many diseases were a result of the personality being out of alignment with their Soul.”

Another moment to ponder.

In turn, he dedicated his life to developing 38 flower essences.

The science behind this is called Sympathetic Resonance.

“Can you think of a time that you felt better simply by being around a happy person? Vibrations can be contagious and flower essences are a way to acquire the positive vibration of a particular flower.”

Psychoneuroimmunology acknowledges that “stress” harms the immune system and the nervous system.

Flower Essences are a gentle and effective way to reduce these effects and bring an individual back to themselves.

“What Is Discovered”, is the second stage of learning in FAWN.

Most practitioners and patients stop exploring beyond school, a practitioners advice and google.

However, what might be discovered if you started looking for information, knowledge and guidance from professionals, cultures, and practitioners that don’t specialize in Fertility, or use common protocols?

It’s takes some digging and observation, but it expands your world and possibilities.

Take a look at this Dentist:

As an example.

How long did it take for someone to question cavities and how to tend to them?

Start exploring, start digging, start discovering.

Touch is one of the senses that is often forgotten about.
It is as important as sight, hearing, taste and smell.
How often are you held by others?
A hug, a handshake, a hand on the shoulder?
How often do you do the same?

How often to you feel natural textures?
Wools, Linens.
Textures that are alive?
Grass, snow, food, water.

How often does your practitioner touch you with care?

We gather so much information from the world around us through touch. There is a massive amount of information gathered though touch.

Sometimes this is all the medicine we need.

Today we had an opportunity to speak with Sean at about some key areas to explore with fertility.
The interview will be posted soon.

Traditionally, Indigenous groups innately know how to connect with body, mind and spirit.

It isn’t something “alternative” or “complimentary”. A holistic approach is the first place to explore. If additional support is needed, then western medicine is utilized.

Getting back to nature is key. Not just on a vacation or a few times a year.

Ideally daily, but as a must, weekly - get out of the city.
Local trails, botanical gardens, creeks, parks.
The more you spend time in nature, the more you get to know yourself.

Fertility Awareness is next week.
April 23-29, 2023, .fawn and .way are now collaborative partners
They are leading the way in redefining (In)Fertility.
www.fertilitymatters.ca provides support, awareness, education and advocates for equitable access to fertility care.

This years theme is “Find your Joy”.

Green is a common colour worn.
It represents health, growth, life and fertility. It evokes feelings of refreshment, peace, rest and JOY.

Nature is our biggest resource for Joy here at F.A.W.N.

Whether you are fully immersed in a forest, over-looking the ocean, watching birds in the sky or witnessing a leaf drift through the air. It’s a chance to stop and en(JOY) the wonder.

A sense of gratitude will usually come, your cells will soak this in, the heart will open even-more. 💛.

We know this is painful, but we also know that life is also full of so many joys and love.

04/16/2023

F.A.W.N.’s commitment to practitioners:
Educate
Support
Magnify each unique talent

Not to form a group who all does it the same, but a Network that:
Fills in the gaps that are longing to be filled.

An inspired, innovative and fulfilled practitioner, means thriving relationships with patients.
In turn, better outcomes.

There is something really special about an in person learning environment.
It’s where you discover golden nuggets, and polish them for months.
Because you “felt” them.
It is where activations are much more cohesive.
So we went old school this time.
The group of humans we have attending are exceptional.
It won’t always be in person.
The next live course, will be 1 year from now.

The future of healthcare is here…….

04/14/2023

Changing the way we utilize healthcare.
Behind the scenes, over the last two years, F.A.W.N. has been focused on revealing a way forward to have our graduates known as:

Primary Care Practitioners.

What exactly does that mean?

1. You are the first point of contact for patients, not the last resort.

2. You are the liaison for appropriate care referrals. You will not have all the answers, but you always know someone who will carry your patients through the next steps. Most often, it will NOT be in the same clinical space.

3. You are a longterm, trusted care giver.
No matter why a patient originally was seeking care, you are now their corner stone. You grow with them, enhance your skills and become their “go too” team member.

Picture a family doctor making house calls 70 years ago, with the evolution of energy medicine.
They know you, they spend time with you, there is a sense of pride and responsibility in your care and work. You become a team. Energy medicine at its finest.

As you would have it, the College of Acupuncturists is starting to see it the same way.
It’s a long awaited Next.
The future of healthcare is here…..

As a practitioner you should never be the “star of the show”.

You are there as a care giver, supporting another human being with your unique skills.

In addition, you should also be an educator.
Not solving problems, but teaching the patient how to solve them WITH you, with themselves and with their loved ones.

It isn’t as daunting as it sounds.
On April 29 & 30th you will learn how to navigate this, and in turn increase your clinical outcomes.

When it’s heartfelt, it’s transformative.

Often, this question is overlooked.

There isn’t a right or wrong answer, however it is a place to understand the “why?”
AND the heart of a patient.

Learn how to get curious, and move through all the layers with ease.

Advanced Fertility Course for practitioners only this time.

One of F.A.W.N’s commitments is also serve patients. One of our pillars will be to educate patients in what to look for in effective healthcare providers.

Just because a practitioner has a popular social media presence, a fancy clinic, a book or many google reviews doesn’t mean you are in the best hands for your particular case.

Some of the best practitioners have none of these.
Simply because they are out there doing the work.
And some of them do.

Bernie Siegel’s book - Love, Medicine and Miracles, is a foundational book for patients and practitioners, and has been a corner stone for us over 20 years.

We are looking forward to teaching more of these foundations in our course on April 29 & 30 - for professionals only this time.
