🎓It's graduation day! 🎓I have officially finished my Early Learning and Childcare Diploma! I just have to register with the province and I’ll be a Level 3 Early Childhood Supervisor!! 💪

Although I didn't make it to the convocation itself, my little friends and I will have a celebration of our on. 🎉

A big thank you to my family for supporting me throughout the last two years and to Portage College for teaching me to be the best educator I can be. 💕

Over the years, most child care programs have moved toward more child-led, interest-based learning — and honestly, I love it. Watching the children explore their own ideas, curiosities, and creativity has been such a rewarding part of this journey.

That said… I’m still a little old school and I do love a good theme. 😊

So I’ve been finding ways to blend both approaches together in a way that feels natural and fun for the children. One thing that’s worked really well in our day home is our themed learning station!

At the top is our ever-popular sensory bin, set up around our current theme. The drawers underneath are filled with themed activities and materials, along with open-ended sensory tools like scoops, tongs, funnels, and more for the children to explore however they choose.

I love this setup because it introduces new ideas and learning opportunities while still giving the children the freedom to lead their own play, follow their interests, and use their imaginations.

And of course, this is only one small part of our environment — we also have puzzles, books, dramatic play, creative materials, and plenty of other invitations to explore around the theme, throughout the day. ❤️

Happy ECE Appreciation Day to all the my fellow educators! 🌷

Some careers become jobs. This one became part of who I am.

Fifteen years into my journey in early childhood education, I can honestly say there is nowhere else I’d rather be. Every day may look a little different — busy mornings, tiny voices, messy art projects, outdoor adventures, big feelings, and endless questions — but every moment carries purpose.

Working with children has changed the way I see the world. They remind me to find joy in the simple things, to slow down, to laugh often, and to celebrate growth in all its forms. Watching children build confidence, learn new skills, form friendships, and feel safe enough to truly be themselves is one of the greatest privileges imaginable.

This work is not always easy, but it is deeply meaningful. Behind the routines and planning are relationships, trust, comfort, encouragement, and so much love. I’m incredibly thankful for all the families who have trusted me with their children over the years, and for every little one who has left fingerprints on my heart along the way.

Today, I’m celebrating not only my own journey, but every educator who shows up each day with patience, compassion, and dedication — even on the hard days. The work we do matters more than most people will ever realize.

Proud to be an Early Childhood Educator!

This week at the playhouse we’ve been busy learning all about honeybees! 🐝🍯

The children explored a honeybee sensory table, created beautiful bee inspired paintings, practiced literacy and matching activities, and spent lots of time buzzing around with imaginative play and curiosity. Watching their excitement while learning about these important pollinators has been so sweet! 🌼💛

Happy 100th Birthday to the incredible Sir David Attenborough 🌎🦋🌿

For generations, he has inspired children and adults alike to slow down, explore nature, and care for the beautiful world around us. Through his documentaries and storytelling, he has taught us that even the smallest creatures and quietest forests matter. 🐛🍃🐝

In our playhouse, we believe nature is one of the greatest teachers. Muddy boots, bug hunts, bird songs, and tiny discoveries help children build curiosity, compassion, and respect for the Earth — lessons that last a lifetime. 💚

Thank you for reminding the world to protect what we love. Happy 100th Birthday! 🎉🌍
