This month’s Indigenous Gathering Circle was a meaningful and inspiring time together, centered around the theme of Powerful Indigenous Women and the significance of ribbon skirts.
We were honoured to welcome local country artist Lena Daniels, who shared her voice, her story, and her teachings with us. Through her music and words, students learned about the importance of ribbon skirts and the strength and impact of Indigenous women in our communities.
Together, we enjoyed a snack, created a craft, and strengthened our sense of connection and community.
Thank you, Lena Daniels, for sharing your gifts with us and for inspiring our students in such a powerful way! ❤️

Happy Shrove Tuesday! Today our school community came together to enjoy pancakes, laughter and fellowship as we prepare our hearts for the holy season of Lent. Shrove Tuesday reminds us to pause, reflect and ready ourselves for a journey of prayer, fasting and almsgiving. May today’s celebrations fill us with joy and gratitude - and may tomorrow’s Ash Wednesday be a beginning of growth and kindness as we start our Lenten journey. Thank you to our amazing team of Mrs. Schurek, Mrs. Pankiw, Mrs. Gouveia, Mrs. Tate and Ms. Keirsty for arriving at 6:30 am and making breakfast for our whole school. Also, thank you to our Parent Council for donating all of the food for our breakfast. We appreciate all you do for our school!

Our school has been ‘jumping’ and raising money to support the Heart and Stroke foundation. Thank you to the grade 5&6 students who showed us their amazing jumping skills yesterday. We have almost reached our school fundraising goal! If you are able, please consider donating to help us attain our goal. Every donation made to Jump Rope for Heart this February will be matched by a generous partner — doubling the impact of your support! That means every contribution makes double the impact in supporting life-changing heart and brain research here in Canada.
