Trainer Tidbit: Lunges
Lunges are harder than they look.
There’s a lot going on in one rep...
So we’re breaking it down.
Challenge 1: Letting the front knee drive forward.
Most people drop into a lunge by pushing the knee over the toes.
That makes it a quad-dominant exercise.
And your glutes miss out.
Do this instead:
Keep pressing back through the back leg.
Then bend the front knee, tracking it over the front ankle.
Now the work moves into your posterior chain.
Glutes. Hamstrings. Hips.
Simple. Intentional. Effective.
Save this for your next leg day. Challenge 2 is coming soon!
