π§‘π§Ά Learning the Art of Weaving π§Άπ§‘
As part of National Indigenous History Month, students have been exploring the traditional art of weaving. Through this hands-on activity, they have been learning about Indigenous cultures, creativity, and the importance of passing down knowledge and traditions from generation to generation.
It has been wonderful to see students develop patience, focus, and appreciation for this beautiful art form while creating their own unique pieces. πΏβ¨
We are grateful for the opportunity to continue learning about and celebrating the rich histories, cultures, and contributions of Indigenous Peoples throughout the month. π

ποΈπ² Grade 6 Adventure at Camp Warwa! π²ποΈ
This past Tuesday, our Grade 6 students enjoyed an unforgettable year-end field trip to Camp Warwa! It was a day filled with adventure, teamwork, and plenty of fun. βοΈ
Students challenged themselves on the rock climbing wall, tested their aim with archery, soared high on the giant swing, and worked together through a variety of group challenges. They also put their problem-solving skills to the test during an exciting survival game. π§πΉπ
It was a fantastic way to celebrate the end of an incredible year together and create memories that will last a lifetime. Thank you to Camp Warwa and our amazing parent volunteers who helped make this amazing experience possible! β€οΈ

π¦ππ·οΈ Zoo 2 U β Part 2! π·οΈππ¦
The excitement continued as our Grades 1β5 students enjoyed an unforgettable visit from Zoo 2 U! Students were amazed by the incredible animals that came to our school and loved learning about their unique characteristics, habitats, and how to safely respect wildlife.
From meeting a giant tortoise π’ and observing fascinating snakes π to getting a close look at a tarantula π·οΈ, there were plenty of smiles, curious questions, and memorable moments throughout the day.

ππ·οΈπ’ Wild Visitors at Our School Part 1! π’π·οΈπ
Students in Grades 1β5 had an exciting opportunity to welcome Zoo 2 U to our school! They learned all about a variety of amazing animals and even got to see some up close.
From a fascinating tarantula π·οΈ to a gentle tortoise π’ and several incredible snakes π, students discovered interesting facts about each animal and gained a greater appreciation for wildlife and the importance of caring for all living creatures. What an unforgettable hands-on learning experience!

π₯π Egg-citing Learning in Grade 3/4! ππ₯
Our Grade 3/4 students had a cracking good time as they took part in an egg tossing competition! Students worked together to see just how far they could throw their eggs while measuring the distance and making predictions along the way. π₯π
It was a fun and engaging way to combine teamwork, math, and a little bit of messy excitement! Who knew measuring distances could be so egg-citing? π

π S is for Sports Day! ππ
Today, our ABC Countdown continued with βS is for Sports Day!β Students showed off their school spirit by wearing their favourite sports jerseys, team colours, and athletic gear. πβ½π
From hockey and soccer to baseball and basketball, it was wonderful to see the halls filled with so many different teams and lots of excitement. Students proudly celebrated their love of sports and had fun showing their team spirit! π

πΏπ§‘ Land-Based Learning: Making Bannock π§‘πΏ
This week, students across our school took part in a special Land-Based Learning experience as they learned how to make bannock. Through this hands-on activity, students explored Indigenous traditions, culture, and the importance of food as a way of connecting with the land and with one another.
From mixing the ingredients to enjoying the finished product, students had a wonderful time learning and sharing together. π₯£π

βοΈπ Year-End Mass & Grade 6 Farewell πβοΈ
Today, our school community came together to celebrate a beautiful Year-End Mass and Grade 6 Farewell.
In the morning, we gathered in prayer and celebration at Mass, giving thanks for the many blessings of the school year. As part of the liturgy, our Grade 6 students received a blessed cross as a special token from our parish and school community, reminding them that they are always loved and supported as they begin a new chapter. π
In the afternoon, our Grade 6 students and families enjoyed a wonderful potluck lunch before gathering for a heartfelt farewell program. Led by our emcees, Alex and Colby, the celebration included special words from Ms. Nigro, our class historians Omeeka and Andrea, and our grade 6 teacher, Ms. Guydash. Each Grade 6 student was recognized and celebrated with a certificate and a special notebook from Ms. Guydash. π
Thank you to all the families, staff, and students who helped make this day so memorable. To our Grade 6 graduates, we are so proud of you and wish you Godβs blessings as you begin your next adventure. You will always be part of our school family! β€οΈπ

Join Edmonton Catholic Schools for First Riders: Learn to Ride the Bus, a free event where students and families can practise bus routines, learn safety basics, and take a short ride before the first day of school.
