Promoting Oral Language & Reading - POLAR Lab - University of Alberta

Last week, members of the POLAR Lab travelled to Copenhagen for the annual conference of the Society for the Scientific Study of Reading (SSSR).

Dr. Wade-Woolley was part of a symposium entitled "Measuring and improving teachers' knowledge of reading," in which she shared preliminary findings from our teacher/SLP survey and focus groups that took place last summer. Jodi DeVries gave a poster presentation that was also related to that project.

Lisa Kohel presented a poster related to the oral language screening project, which includes data from a number of local school divisions.

Many thanks to the teachers, SLPs, and school divisions who have partnered with us over the past year, allowing us to continue this work! We look forward to hosting SSSR next year in Calgary!
