Today, the SHARP-SMH team joins the University of Alberta in observing the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and its "commitment to the vital process of reconciliation.” Not only will we be wearing orange, but we will be accepting Bill Flanagan's invitation to "use the day to learn and reflect on the history and ongoing legacy of the Indian residential school system.” To learn more about the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation at the University (including events and resources), click here: https://bit.ly/3AYBXYz

Teachers on the SHARP-SMH team have found this book list (https://bit.ly/3u2I1ws), compiled by Chantelle Bellrichard at CBC, very helpful as they think about opening up the "space for conversation" with children around the legacy of residential schools.
How are you preparing for National Truth and Reconciliation Day this year? "
