For all the students who might be wondering, the Medicine River Wildlife Centre arrived just before 4 pm today to rescue our bat.

This is the same awesome group of people who shared their amazing owl, Olive, with our Gr 3 class last year!

Our bat is a ‘little brown’ bat and will likely make a full recovery!

Eckville Elementary School is officially registered for the 2026 Terry Fox School Run, scheduled for Friday, September 25th!

This year marks the 46th anniversary of Terry Fox’s Marathon of Hope, and we’re thrilled to join nearly 10,000 schools nationwide in celebrating his legacy.

Our goal is to raise $3000 in support of cancer research and if we reach our goal... we don't know yet! We can't wait for our Grade 6 class to come up with some great ideas if we reach our goal!

Thank you for the amazing BBQ lunch for the whole school on Monday! It was amazing and we want to thank all the parent volunteers and everyone who supported this to help make our cancelled track and field day a whole lot better!

This year's Track and Field day is cancelled. We were rained out twice, support from high school students was no longer available due to exams, and we had an insufficient number of volunteers for our third attempt.

We know how much the students were looking forward to the day (and so were we!) but we cannot effectively run the day without adequate support.

Our BBQ LUNCH will still be on for all students (Thank you School Council!). Parents and family members who purchased additional meals will be reimbursed as we no longer have an event to invite you to.

Our hope is that the weather will hold so we can have a special whole-school lunch on the field.

Track and Field Day - Tuesday, June 16

Due to a forecast of lightning and rainy weather, our Track and Field Day will be rescheduled again, to Monday, June 22nd. Thank you to everyone for shifting and adjusting where possible. We will be reaching out more early this week to confirm with all those involved.

With this shift in date, we will not have access to junior high students as volunteers to run our events. We will need to rely on Parent Volunteers. We will need to confirm 20 volunteers by this Thursday in order to proceed. Please reach out to the school office ASAP to volunteer.

Unfortunately, we cannot adjust bussing for kindergarten students on this date. Kindergarten students will need to be driven in and picked up in order to attend on this date.
