⛺ Honouring the Land & Our Community! ⛺
A huge thank you to this fantastic crew for getting the tipi up!! This was a magnificent way to honour our prairie lands and celebrate our interconnectedness to the land we gather on.
Through this hands-on experience, we learned about the traditional 15 Tipi Teachings—discovering that building a tipi requires not only knowledge; but also the grit, tenacity, and patience to adjust.
Bringing Indigenous knowledge into our school community grounds us in teachings of the past. Understanding the cultural importance of the tipi alongside the significance of native species helps our students develop a deeper respect for the environment and the rich history.
This project wouldn't have been possible without the extraordinary care and dedication of our team. A special thank you to:
Our Amazing Educators: Ms. Lindsay, Mr. Hoult, and Miss Whitell
Our Supportive Staff: Ms. McKenzie and Mr. Falcon
The Best Trustee Ever: Mr. Eckstein
Our Super Student Trio: Vaughn, Ashton, and Owen
Thank you all for your hard work, collaboration, and commitment to grounding our school in land-based learning! 🪶🌾
