I’m Byron Matthews. I’m the biggest guitar nerd you’ve ever met. I love the instrument; the way it looks, the way it feels, the way it sounds and aaaaallllll the accessories.

I’m a passionate self-taught musician who provides student-interest directed curriculum but who also insists on a foundation of theory because it leads to greater ability and also, it’s good for you.

Located in Sambro Head, Nova Scotia, I offer private 1:1 guitar lessons in my family home. My personal passion is highly technical metal music; however I have an appreciation for classic guitar, country classics, modern rock, and singer song-writer genres.

I offer a non-intimidating, warm instruction environment for students of all ages (well almost all. I believe that students aged 8 and above will have the personal motivation and intellectual development to learn with the most joy.) I believe that students must have the internal passion to commit to instruction but I am an accountability motivated teacher who encourages students to explore their craft but also to put in the time to learning the basic foundation of this beautiful art.

But hey - if you’re over 19 and you just like to drink beer and jam that’s cool too.
