WAA Warmland Arts Academy

We are feeling so encouraged about the growing need in our community for grounded, small-class, creative, and affordable options for middle and high school students.
At Warmland Arts Academy, our Grade 8/9 class is designed to offer that next step for adolescents who are ready for a little more independence, a fresh social experience, and a setting that feels both supportive and exciting. With a maximum of 12 students, this class offers the benefits of a close-knit community while also giving students more freedom, more ownership, and a more mature experience of school life.
Our downtown Duncan setting has been such a gift for this age group. Students enjoy being part of the life of the town, visiting local shops and coffee spots at lunch, building confidence and independence, and experiencing school in a way that feels new, age-appropriate, and engaging. At the same time, they remain held in a caring, relationship-based environment with teachers who deeply understand child and adolescent development.
Warmland Arts Academy is an arts-based alternative program and an official service provider for a BC certified school. Our teachers bring Waldorf experience and training, along with strong academic backgrounds and broader educational experience, creating a program that is developmentally grounded, current, and innovative. It is a wonderful fit for students who are ready for a breath of fresh air in adolescence while still benefiting from thoughtful guidance, engaging learning experiences, and strong values.
Our students also have the opportunity to explore dance and performing arts from beginner to advanced, and to participate in the local arts community through festivals, performances, and other exciting opportunities in the valley.
We are also offering classes next year for Grades 3/4 and Grades 5-7.

We’re welcoming families to visit the studio while classes are in session on Monday, January 12 at 9:30 AM. This is an observe-only visit where you’ll see how academics and performing arts are woven into a regular school morning.
