Come Discover a World of Play at "Wendy's House!" Located on Beverly street, next to Quamichan School. Inside, is a variety of play areas. (No admission fee ).

Open Monday to Thursday 10-1 following SD79 school calendar A drop-in Centre for Families with children Birth to school age.It's an Early Learning Centre developed by the community for the community. It will include a boat to climb on, light table explorations, story telling area, reading corner and a life size kids Tree House. All of these built with materials and labour donated by groups and businesses in our community. Success by 6 is a major partner in funding this exciting endeavour. Providing initial seed funds and then a second grant to assist in completing the project. That initial financial support has encouraged other community partners to come on board. So this definitely is a community built project for our community

Wendy Erickson, whom this centre is named after, was our first early years coordinator in our district. Her vision was to have a place where children and their families can learn and play together in a fun and whimsical place. With her inspiration and all the community effort I think it’s safe to say we’ve done it:)

Your family could make a lasting difference in the lives of children in your community!

Roots of Empathy is centred around your baby becoming the ‘Tiny Teacher’ in a classroom. Volunteer Parents bring their babies into a classroom, and guided by a Roots of Empathy Instructor, the children are encouraged to read your baby’s emotional cues and take your baby’s perspective, which can lead to the development of prosocial skills such as empathy and inclusion.

Here is what to look forward to in July for Baby Talk at Margaret Moss Health Unit! Happening every Tuesday from 10:00-11:30am for caregivers and their little ones under 12 months. Come on and drop in and connect with other families in the community! Looking forward to welcoming you to the unit.

Our last story walk will be
Raven Makes a Necklace on Wednesday 10th June.

We will be at the Cowichan Sportsplex, under the gazebo, next to the exercise equipment from 9 - 11.

Families may have noticed the beautiful gardens surrounding Wendy House, our beloved play centre named in honour of Wendy Erickson (MacDowell) our school district’s first Early Learning Coordinator. For many years, Wendy’s family — and especially her brother Mark — lovingly cared for these gardens as a way to honour Wendy’s legacy and deep commitment to children and early learning.

Sadly, Mark recently passed away. In his memory, his brother Robert has now taken on the care of the gardens, continuing this meaningful act of love and remembrance. A new plaque has also been placed in the garden to honour both Wendy and Mark, whose care and dedication have helped make Wendy House such a beautiful special place surrounded by love and flowers for children and families.💕🌸

We are deeply grateful to the MacDowell family for the care, beauty, and heart they continue to share with our community. ❤️

Our story this month will be
We went to visit the Farm One Day by Jane Chapman.

We will meet at the Cowichan Sportsplex on today Wednesday 8th from 9 - 11 rain or shine.
