Queen of Angels Catholic School

Queen of Angels Catholic School 'Where children love to learn and learn to love' We recognize that each child is unique and encourage them to do, and be, the best they can.

Queen of Angels Catholic School is a community; a partnership between school, home and parish, and as such we work hard to build an environment of caring and respect. Student needs are met through S.P.I.C.E.S – Spiritually, Physically, Intellectually, Culturally, Emotionally, and Socially. The school offers an extensive extra-curricular program designed to supplement the regular curriculum. Numerous sports teams, clubs, and projects are occurring throughout the entire school year giving students the opportunity to become involved in “their” school. Parent involvement is also welcomed and encouraged as parents are the primary educators of their children. If not for the efforts of our parents and the commitment of our staff, Queen of Angels would not be the school it is today.

We sincerely thank the Duncan Fire Department for their wonderful presentation on fire safety for our primary students. Your engaging and friendly approach made the experience enjoyable and informative, helping us feel more comfortable seeking assistance from firefighters if necessary. A special shout-out to Deputy Chief Chris and firefighters Brian, Stacey, and Harvey! You were all fantastic! We truly appreciate your time and dedication to keeping our community safe.

Due to ongoing concerns over student privacy and in recognition of the need for our policies to align with those of our other Island Catholic Schools, we have revised our expectations regarding student access to personal digital devices.

Specifically, students may not access their smartwatches or cell phones at any time while on school property, including campus and school buses, or while participating in field trips, unless express permission is given by a staff member.

Attached, for your reference, is our revised Parent Handbook. The updated sections include Classroom Conduct, Telephone Privileges and Personal Digital Device Use, and Athletic Policy (pages 11, 13, 17, and 18).

The Cops for Cops for Cancer - Tour de Rock team brought inspiration, energy, and community spirit to Queen of Angels School on Monday, September 28! 🚴‍♀️💛🎗️
• The Event: Students, staff, and community members gathered to give the heroic riders an unforgettable welcome during their annual 1,200 kilometre fundraising journey across Vancouver Island.
• The Cause: Every pedal stroke helps fund life-saving childhood cancer research and support programs like Camp Goodtimes through the Canadian Cancer Society.
• The Spirit: From crazy hair days to incredible community donations, our school showed what it means to rise to the challenge for a brilliant cause!
Thank you to all of the amazing police officers, firefighters, paramedics, military personnel, media partners, and community riders who dedicate months of training and fundraising to give hope to kids fighting cancer!

🏃‍♀️💙 Making a Difference, One Step at a Time!

On September 17, students from Queen of Angels proudly participated in the Terry Fox Run, coming together to honour Terry Fox’s incredible legacy and his dream of finding a cure for cancer.

We are so proud of our students for showing community spirit, perseverance, and compassion while supporting this meaningful cause. Every step counts! 👟💙

Last Thursday, our dedicated runners took on the beautiful and challenging trails at the Witty’s Lagoon Cross Country Meet. Every student showed incredible grit, determination, and true Angel spirit as they pushed through the forest paths and raced toward the finish line. A huge thank you to the coaches, parents, and supporters who cheered our team on! Also, a shout out to Mr. Battie who organizes all of our sports activities throughout the year! 🥰Way to go, Angels!! 👏😇💙
