Cowichan Valley Careers and Dual Credit The Dual Credit program gives students an opportunity to take post-secondary courses tuition free. SD79 students, see your high school Counsellor for more info!

These courses & programs are offered through our partnership with both VIU & Camosun College. What is Dual Credit? Dual Credit courses and programs allow motivated secondary school students the opportunity to begin career training in trades, technical programs and first year University courses prior to graduation (must be under the age of 19 on July 1st). Students who participate in this early entry receive credit towards their Grade 12 graduation requirements as well as University or College credit. TUITION is free! Programs that qualify include but are not limited to:
Automotive Service Technician
Carpentry
Electrical
Hairdressing
Health Care Assistant
Heavy Duty Mechanic
Trades Sampler Programs
Plumbing and Piping
Professional Cook (Culinary)
Office Assistant
Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Foundations
Welding

Another successful District Gravity Car Day Event for Cowichan Schools! The top 6 student qualifiers from 14 school in our district raced for the fastest car. Congratulations to Chemainus Seconday for a Gold place finish and Tansor Elementary for both Silver and Bronze finishes. Best Decorated Car was awarded to Chemainus Elementary. 🚗🚙. We would also like to thank staff for generously hosting this event for our student again this year!
