The main objective of Beyond the Prism is to provide 2SLGBTQQIA+ education and advocacy throughout Northwestern Ontario. Services being offered include Safe Space Training, guest speaker events/engagements, and one-on-one/small group consultations. The goal is to create safer, more inclusive, and more accepting spaces within our communities. SERVICES OFFERED:
SAFE SPACE TRAINING

ining is a full-day training. The training is a 101-style training focusing on 2SLGBTQQIA+ information, ways to be supportive to individuals that identify as 2SLGBTQQIA+, and various scenarios with discussion on best way to handle/respond to these scenarios. Everyone that participates in the training will receive a Certificate of Completion. However, at the end of training, participants will be given the opportunity to sign a pledge stating they will be a safe person/space to the 2SLGBTQQIA+ community. If the pledge is signed, the participant will be provided with a “Safe Space Postcard”, where it can be displayed in their office/space, indicating you are a safe person. If a venue is required, there will be an additional rental fee. There is a requirement of at least 8 participants to run the Safe Space Training, and can accommodate up to 24. These requirements may be negotiable. If outside of the immediate surrounding of Dryden, travel and accommodations may be required. Are you holding an event or a conference and you are looking for a guest speaker that focuses on 2SLGBTQQIA+ education, advocacy, and issues? Or maybe your organization or business is looking to bring someone in for some brief introductory 2SLGBTQQIA+ information. Or perhaps you are a part of a school and are interested in bringing some 2SLGBTQQIA+ information into your school staff or students. Whatever your specific needs may be, Tiffany is available to come to your space and/or event and provide brief focused presentations, with the focus being your decision. ONE-ON-ONE/SMALL GROUP CONSULTATION
Tiffany is available for one-on-one or small group consultation. This service will be provided for you/your organization/business with the intent of making your space more inclusive. Are you wanting to become more inclusive in the work you do? This may include policies, procedures, and/or operations. Tiffany can help you focus on areas of improvement for your space. There will be a discount for this service if Safe Space Training has been previously purchased/taken. ABOUT TIFFANY
Tiffany was born and raised in Dryden, Ontario. Growing up, she was very passionate about hockey, at one time playing on three different local teams. During her last two years of High School, Tiffany moved to Thunder Bay to play for the Thunder Bay Queens. Tiffany ended up fulfilling one of her childhood dreams when she moved to Detroit, Michigan, playing NCAA Division I hockey for Wayne State University. At Wayne State, she ended up graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Psychology, as well as a second degree, a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry. It was after moving to Detroit, and being exposed to a much broader diverse community, where Tiffany found herself internally exploring her identity and eventually ended coming out to others. After coming out, Tiffany started researching and learning as much as she could related to anything 2SLGBTQQIA+. She also started volunteering and advocating a lot. The very first time Tiffany facilitated a Safe Space Training was during her undergrad in Detroit. Tiffany was the co-president of the University LGBT group, co-founder of the University Gender and Sexuality Resource Community, and was instrumental in having gender identity included in the University’s policies. After her time in Detroit, Tiffany moved to the Caribbean Island of St. Kitts, where she studied medicine for two years. She finished the remaining two years of medical school travelling throughout the United Stated and Canada. After graduating from medical school, Tiffany moved back to Dryden. After returning to Dryden, Tiffany found herself in the Social Worker field, including some time as a 2SLGBTQQIA+ worker, and subsequently earned her Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Manitoba. Tiffany finds herself most passionate in 2SLGBTQQIA+ education and advocacy, as well as mental health. Tiffany is a Montreal Canadiens fan. She is also passionate about education, loves animals (especially dogs and cats), and enjoys spending time at the beach.
