Greentree Elementary School

Golden Hills School Division’s Board of Trustees is excited to nominate Alex Fuselli, a grade 4 and grade 5 teacher at Greentree Elementary School in Drumheller, for this year’s Edwin Parr Award.

As a first-year teacher at Greentree Elementary, Alex has truly hit her stride. She possesses a remarkable talent for seamlessly weaving together the grade 4 and grade 5 curriculums, maintaining an organized split classroom with high expectations for all. Beyond her instructional skill, Alex creates a warm, inclusive environment where every student feels safe, seen, and supported. She truly makes a difference in the lives of her students. As a collaborative team member, Alex has an unwavering commitment to building meaningful connections with students, colleagues, and parents.

The award, named in honour of Edwin Parr, former President of the Alberta School Boards Association (ASBA), was established almost 60 years ago to recognize outstanding first year teachers. School Boards across the province nominate one exceptional candidate to their ASBA Zone Committee each year. Alex was honoured at the Golden Hills School Division's Employee Recognition event on May 21 and at the ASBA Zone 5 Edwin Parr celebration on May 14.

It's getting to be that time of year! May Long we get to sell hot dogs to the community at our local Freson Bros to support Greentree Elementary School! We would love to see you out on Saturday May 16th for a hot dog or two!
