Reminder, tomorrow is Camo Day and Turkey Scavenger Hunt. Dress in camo and hunt for turkeys around the school for family team points and prizes!

You can only turn in 1 turkey, so if you find more than 1 leave the rest where they are (and tell someone on your family team where to find them!)

Also, tomorrow is Awards Night starting at 7pm. If you're getting an award, your parent/guardian should have received an email letting them know! Even if you aren't getting an award, come celebrate the accomplishments of your friends and classmates!

There are so many things happening at HTA this week!

Monday - Post Secondary Fair starting at 6 pm
Tuesday - Picture Day
Wednesday - Citadel Trip (regular classes for anyone not going)
Thursday - Camo Day and Turkey Scavenger Hunt during the day
Thursday Evening - Awards Ceremony starting at 7pm
Friday - PD Day, no school

Also, there is no school next Monday for Thanksgiving!

These are the announcements for the week of October 5th.

Today is World Teachers’ Day. Let’s take a moment to recognize the commitment and dedication of our teachers, who care about you.

Tonight, HTA is hosting its annual Post-Secondary Fair; over 15 colleges and universities will be in attendance. Please bring yourselves and your families. It will be in the gym from 6-7:30 pm.

Tuesday is picture day- dress your best and smile for the camera.

The annual trip to the Citadel Theatre is this Wednesday. We will be seeing Murder on the Orient Express. Only 100 tickets were sold, so there is regular school for all students not attending. There will be appetizers and refreshments at the school before we get on the bus for all those attending the play. Please dress up, and bring a bag lunch, as there is no place to purchase lunch at the theatre.

Tuesday evening will be our first Parent Council meeting. We welcome all parents who would like to attend.

Please make sure you sign up for your RTI Block Tuesday this week. RTI is a very important part of school as it allows students to get the help they need.

Thursday is HTA Awards Night starting at 7pm. All those receiving awards will be getting a phone call.

This is a short week. No school on Friday, it is a PD Day.

This week in sports.

Sr boys practice will be canceled tonite due to the Post Secondary fair happening in the gym. Boys will have practice Wednesday from 6-8 pm.

Senior Girls traveled for their first ever tournament in Athabasca- Home of the predators. They returned, turning it into the TIGERS den, by taking GOLD in some Amasing highlight volleyball.

Sr. Girls Practice this week Tuesday 615-815 and Thursday 4-5

JV girls practice this week Tuesday 4-6 and there is no practice Thursday because of awards night. Please remember to bring your forms to Mrs. Nickle as soon as possible.

Grade 9 girls volleyball practice is Wednesday at 3:30 pm.

Cross Country practice will only be on Monday this week. We are heading Westlock for zones on Wednesday. Please remember to hand in permission forms. We will meet today in the foyer after the final bell.

Please note that the Gym at Lunch hour will only be open to those interested in playing volleyball - don’t worry, basketball will get its month as well, but not in October.

Reminder: only indoor shoes are permitted on the gym floor. There are racks for outdoor shoes. Additionally, the only beverage on or near the gym floor should be water. NO EXCEPTIONS

The HTA vs Frank Maddock Can Vac Haunted House Challenge is on! There is a head to head/ room vs room competition; please volunteer your time and your efforts to make HTA’s room the scariest. It is a fundraiser with a vote, the winner takes a portion of the 50/50. Please see Mrs. Nickle or Mrs.Elliott to add your support. There will be a meeting today 2nd half of lunch in Mrs. Nickle’s room.

This Week in Clubs

Smash Brothers is Monday, Wednesday and Fridays 3:30-5:30. Please bring your own controller, all are welcome! No experience required. See Mr. Mann for more information

Fiber arts club today at lunch in Miss Bens’ room . Everyone welcome.

Come learn how to kick and be kicked with the Taekwondo Club! The club runs Thursday after school from 3.30 to 5 pm on the stage. No experience required, beginners are encouraged to join. Please see Mr. Tan for details.

Social Justice will meet in Mrs. Beaulieu’s room immediately at lunch on Thursday !

Registration for the Citadel Trip had been extended to this Friday at 4. The permission form and payment needs to be processed digitally, and can be found under the Student Forms and Fees section of the Powerschool Parent Portal.

Please note, students won't be back until 4:30, so please make alternate arrangements for bus students to go home that afternoon.

🧡 National Day for Truth and Reconciliation 🧡

Today, Holy Trinity Academy pauses to remember, listen, and pray as we honour the Survivors, families, and communities impacted by residential schools.

We were honoured to welcome New Blood, a remarkable group of high school students from Strathmore, who shared their powerful talents and stories with our school community.

As people of faith, we are called to listen with compassion, seek truth, and treat every person with dignity and respect. Reconciliation begins when we make space for stories, especially those that have too often gone unheard.

We are grateful to Weyerhaeuser and Alison Struth of In and Beyond the Classroom for sponsoring this meaningful event, and to The Whitebull for providing lunch.

May God guide us as we continue to learn, remember, and walk together on the path toward reconciliation. 🧡

Our amazing students have organized a bottle drive for tomorrow in support of Rosa and the Nelson Family!

If you have bottles that you would like to donate, they can be brought to the HTA parking lot tomorrow (Saturday Sept. 25) starting at 10 am, or can be taken directly to the bottle depot and deposited under the account name Rosa.

Keep an eye out for our students and volunteers around town throughout the day as well, as they will be knocking on doors!

Thank you for your support, and a huge shout out to the students who have taken the initiative to make this day a reality. We're proud of you!

These are the announcements for the week of September 20th.

Thank you to all who participated in the Opening Mass, Terry Fox Walk and Parking Lot Party. It was a great day to come together as an HTA family and have a little fun.

The grade 12s thank you for all who contributed to the Senior Soak!

Please make sure you sign up for your RTI Blocks Tuesday and Wednesday. Teachers have them prepped and ready to go. RTI is a very important part of school as it gives students the opportunity to get extra help, catch up on homework, or reinforce information already learned. Teachers are able to request you to their room if you are needed there.

Any students in grade 10-12 that are interested in gaining work experience credits this year, please see Mrs. Highfield during RTI on Tuesday this week.

Just a quick reminder to collect all your cans and bottles for the bottle drive on the 26th for Rosa Nelson.

This week in sports.

Sr boys had a great weekend playing in the Frank Maddock volleyball tournament. They ended up taking 3rd overall. A reminder boys have practice today and Wednesday from 6-8 pm. We need to get ready for our next tournament in Spruce Grove this upcoming weekend.

Senior Girls had a great weekend playing at the Frank Maddock tournament. The Tigers took 2nd place and look forward to a week of just practice. Tuesday @6:!5 and Thursday @4:00.

JV girls Travelled to Boyle this last weekend and fought hard taking 2nd place overall in the tournament. JV practice is @4:00 on Tuesday and @6:00 on Thursday.

Grade 9 girls volleyball practice is Monday at 3:30 pm. We have a game in Whitecourt on Wednesday right after school and a tournament in Whitecourt Friday after school and all day Saturday! Please ensure your permission slips are turned in and you have arranged a ride.

Cross Country practice will be Monday and Wednesday after school. All grades are welcome. Grab your outdoor running shoes, bring a water bottle, and meet us in the foyer after the final bell.

Starting next 28th School Lunch hours will be taken up by an intramural 4v4 volleyball tournament. There are specific rules for teams to participate and compete. Winning team over all at the end earns bragging rights as well as team shirts. If you have any questions or are looking to enter a team see Mr. Ram.

This week, HTA was honoured to once again host Morgan Toney & Keith Mullins’ Mi’kmaltic (Mi'kmaq + Celtic) music and dance experience! Thank you so much to everyone who made the day such a success!
