Hey everyone,
A few updates for December. I believe I've gone over some of this with some of you but I think it'll be better to have it all in one place.
First I want to thank everyone for a wonderful second year. I truly love teaching all the students and I hope I'm making the classes both enjoyable and valuable.
Second, like last year, we will be taking a break for new years and coming back in January. So there will be no classes from Dec 23rd to Jan 9th. The last class will be Dec 22nd and the first class after New Years will be on Jan 10th.
Thirdly, we will be having our annual Dojo Night Dinner on Thursday December 21st. Because the Wild Wings we went to last year is no longer around, I'll be looking for a new place this year (Currently thinking about Boston Pizza but I'm open to suggestions). I originally was thinking of Wednesday or Friday but I'd rather not cut the adult class short so it will be on Thursday.

Thank you again,
Sensei Joseph.

Hello everyone,
I hope you’re all having a great weekend. I’m a little sore from yesterday’s seminar but it was great to see higher ranking Karate Sensei. He said that the orange belts are doing really well and he was impressed.
I have a few updates for October. First, we will be having classes on Thanksgiving weekend. I understand if you can’t make it but I will be at the dojo if you can.
Second, I’m planning another Dojo night dinner to celebrate our Dojo’s anniversary on the 18th (Probably going to do it on the 20th so it's not in the middle of the school week). Please let me know if you have any suggestions for where we should go. I have something in mind but am always open to suggestions.
And lastly, I would like to congratulate everyone that graded on Friday.

Keep up the hard work,

Sensei Joseph.

Hey everyone,
Just a quick update. Starting Friday the 8th, I'll be pushing back all classes during the week by 15 minutes. So the first class will be at 5:30, the second 6:30, and adults at 7:30. The old schedule was overlapping with the afterschool program. For any parents of students in the 2nd or first classes, please let me know if you need to move blocks.

Hey everyone,
Hope everyone is having a good day. I have a few updates for September to share with you.
First, there will be no classes on the 1st and 2nd of September. With kids going back to school and the long weekend for the adults, I want everyone to enjoy themselves and reset. Second, as I've said before, on the 30th, I will be at the seminar for the class with the Kyoshi. I recommend anyone that is able to go to go as it is a good experience. I do understand if you can't go, so if you can't, there will be no classes on the 30th.
Lastly, though not in September, I will bring this up here, November 18th, there will be another tournament organized by the same group as the one we went to in May. I will not be going but I will not stop anyone who wants to go and I wish you all the best.

Sensei Joseph.

Hello everyone,I hope all is well. I have a few updates and reminders.
First, It is Sensei Keith and the Red Dragon Dojo's 12th anniversary on the 4th and it would be nice if everyone wished them the best next time you see him. They've been very kind and welcoming the past year.

Lasty, for those going to the tournament on the 20th, it has been suggested that we all go out for dinner after the tournament.
If you're interested, please let me know where you and/or your child would prefer. We are currently look at:

2023 SOSMAI Rules 04/01/2023

Hey Everyone,
A couple updates for you all.
First, we will NOT be having classes over the Easter weekend meaning no classes for kids on the Friday or the Saturday and no classes for adults on Friday and the Monday.
Second, about the tournament in May, if you are interested in taking part, please let me know. I'll also be setting up a sign up sheet at the dojo so I can keep track of everyone.
You can get more information about the events:
Here https://docs.google.com/document/d/1wHSG5V2G4mu8Dag5K_7zFj3a03pd_74SOAmSxyMZVpo/edit?usp=sharing

but the key points are,
-it starts at 9:30 am
-there are kata, sparring, self-defense, and board breaking events.
-Helmet, Gloves, Foot Guards, Mouth Guard, (and Groin Cup for Males) MUST be worn while sparring
-uniforms are mandatory

If you are not planning on going for the events, we will NOT be having classes on that Saturday.
I can clarify anything else or answer any questions either after class or in email if you still have any. I myself am excited and even if you do not participate, i highly recommend watching the event as these are always a lot of fun.

Hey everyone,
I'm so sorry but I have to cancel class tomorrow. I've been keeping myself up sniffling and sneezing up a storm. A few days ago I woke up with a sore throat and now my nose is red. I have taken a few COVID tests and luckily all of them have returned negative so I think this is just the flu.
Hopefully everyone can keep practicing their kata at home and I'll see you all on friday for the grading.

Hey everyone!
Thank you everyone who came out to Dojo Night. I had fun and it was nice just chatting and having dinner with you all. For those who couldn't make it, there's always next year ;)
Happy holidays and I wish everyone the best 2 weeks they can get. Because of the bad weather, Sensei Keith has asked that we not have class tomorrow so that no one is at risk of hurting themselves on the way to the dojo. So, I hope everyone has a great new years and I'll see you all in 2023

Hey everyone.
Next month, I'm planning a Dojo Night out for us before the break. I'll be reserving seats for us at the wild wings ( https://www.wildwingrestaurants.com/order-now/?location=Ajax ) in ajax.
I'm hoping this'll be a fun night for all the students and parents to laugh, chat, and have a good time. Please let me know if you would like to attend.

Secondly, I'd like to let you all know that we will not be having classes from Dec 24th to Jan 7th. The first class for adults will be Jan 9th and for the kids will be the 11th. I hope everyone will use this time to have fun with their family and get reset and refreshed for next year.

Hey everyone. Two little updates for you all.
First I'd like to congratulate everyone who graded last week:
Brody
Niviriti
Dylan and Travis
Noah
You guys all did well and I can't wait to show you all everything that comes with your new ranks!

Secondly, I'm finally ordering patches for our Gi (Uniforms). They'll be a copy of our dojo's logo aound hand size that goes on the chest but I have heard of one student that would like a larger one they'd like to attach to the back of a jacket.
I'll be ordering the patches tomorrow so if anyone else wants anything custom, please feel free to ask. :D
