Dorval Strathmore Pre-kindergarten (Preschool)

The Dorval Strathmore Pre-kindergarten offers a bilingual, structured program which prepares children for their kindergarten year.

The program touches on various parts of the kindergarten curriculum and is not a play group, although there is social play. The Dorval Strathmore Pre-kindergarten is located in the very spacious and bright lower hall at the Dorval-Strathmore United Church situated at 310 Brookhaven, at the corner of Carson Avenue, two short blocks west of Dorval Elementary School. Peel, wax, blow dry, sponge, wrap...it sounds like a day at the spa!!! Our preschoolers did just that :)
School is out but we never forget about our dads on Father's Day.

Last year, our preschoolers circulated our own Earth Flag, collecting signatures, to inspire everyone to be part of an historical event and of course to take the pledge:
I pledge to the best of my ability to help make the earth a safe and hospitable home for this and future generations.

Earth Day Canada created a 2015 Earth Flag on which it collected signatures from people across the country who were committed to making Earth Day every day and doing their part to reduce carbon emissions 20% by 2020. Our own flag is now a part of the 2015 Earth Day flag. It was suppose to be taken to the International Climate Conference in Paris in December 2015 where a new international agreement on carbon emissions was signed. It was postponed because of the Paris attacks. The Earth Flag finally made its debut on April 15, 2016 at the Green Living Show in Toronto and it’s beautiful.
It was created using people’s signatures on all kinds of canvases – paper, T-shirts, posters, even superhero capes – mailed in from schools, businesses and communities across Canada, alongside digital signatures through their website, the 25th Anniversary Earth Flag measures 30 x 50 feet in size and features original artwork by renowned Canadian artist Charles Pachter. It includes signatures from Al Gore, Robert Bateman, Elizabeth May and even Prime Minister Justin Trudeau!

Never underestimate the skills and dedication of a preschooler. They worked incredibly hard during our practices, quickly learning all the words and tunes to our graduation songs and poems. As well, the work they put into producing the art and decorations for our graduation day speaks volume. Our theme this year was “rainbow”.
