I am one of the founding members of the Alberta Mycological Society and have served in many capacities with AMS as well as other mycological associations. As I communicate with mycologists worldwide, I’ve kept up with new and exciting discoveries regarding fungi for decades. I’m particularly interested in medicinal mushrooms; research has shown that fungi play a large role in the health of humans, as well as other species, including the environment at large. I was honoured when some of my mushroom photographs were displayed in the Royal Alberta Museum, and I’m delighted to show off my fungi photos at my presentations. I’ve always enjoyed leading “walks and talks” about mushrooms and have provided lectures and discussions to many diverse groups over the years, including toxicologists, chefs, naturalists, gardeners, foresters, Junior Forest Wardens, and others, as well as interviews with CBC TV, Radio, and other media outlets. I’m also having fun producing YouTube videos about my favourite topics:

As I reach partial retirement from my usual occupation as a Master Home Inspector, I’m finding that my passion for mushrooms is evolving into more time spent outdoors, with interest in fungi “mushrooming” all over the world!
