As we conclude our Graduate Profile Series, we celebrate Caitlyn: a student whose Southpointe journey has been shaped by curiosity, leadership, and a passion for learning.
From serving as Head Prefect and mentoring younger students through the Kindergarten Buddies programme to earning one of McGill University's prestigious Prestige Scholarships, Caitlyn has embraced every opportunity to grow, lead, and make a meaningful impact.
This fall, she begins the next chapter at McGill University, where she will study Biology, Biomedical Sciences, and Life Sciences as she works toward her goal of a career in medicine.
Thank you, Caitlyn, for the kindness, dedication, and positivity you've shared with our community. We can't wait to see where your journey takes you next.

Some of the most meaningful learning happens when we see the world with curiosity. 🏔️
This summer, Mr. Lau, Science Teacher at Southpointe, has been reconnecting with family and friends while exploring Banff and Calgry and taking in the incredible landscapes of the Canadian Rockies.
A highlight was visiting the Columbia Icefield and seeing firsthand how the glacier has changed over time. For Mr. Lau, it was a powerful reminder that what students explore in the classroom is unfolding in the world around them. It’s an experience he’s looking forward to sharing with students this fall, helping make those connections even more meaningful.
Fun fact: When Mr. Lau isn’t travelling or teaching, you’ll often find him in the garden, tending to plants and watching for new growth. 🌱

Every future begins with a question worth exploring.
🎓 Meet Bright, a Southpointe graduate from the Class of 2026.

A summer to remember for Yoyo. ⛳️☀️
Three years ago, Yoyo Zhang was just getting started in golf. This summer, she became a world champion for the second time.
At the 2026 U.S. Kids Golf World Championship in Pinehurst, North Carolina, nine-year-old Yoyo successfully defended her title, becoming the first Canadian junior golfer to win back-to-back championships. 🇨🇦🏆
Getting here has taken practice, patience and determination. These are the same qualities we encourage in our classrooms: learning through challenges, building confidence and continuing to grow.
And Yoyo is already dreaming bigger. One day, she hopes to win all of the LPGA major championships.
Congratulations, Yoyo, on Worlds Win No. 2! ⛳️

🍎 In one month, our campus will be filled with the excitement of a new school year.
As we count down to September, we're looking back at the moments that welcomed our community last year—from the smiles of the first day and our Opening Ceremony to the Back-to-School BBQ, athletic competitions, classroom discoveries, and meaningful learning as we recognized the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
The first month of school is about more than settling into a routine. It's where new friendships begin, confidence grows, curiosity takes shape, and our community comes together. It's also a time to reflect, listen, and deepen our understanding of Canada's history and the ongoing journey of reconciliation.
Here's to the memories that started it all, and to the new ones we'll create together in just a few short weeks. 📚
What are you most looking forward to this September?

Our Summer Staff Spotlight continues with Miss Munro, our Middle School Language & Humanities Teacher! 🌿
This summer, Miss Munro has been exploring beautiful corners of British Columbia with her family, from lakeside adventures in Vernon to biking around Tsawwassen and hiking on Galiano Island. Along the way, she found inspiration in nature and a simple reminder that will stay with her long after summer ends.
One moment that stood out was watching her two young children complete their first hike up Mount Galiano. As they climbed at different speeds, taking breaks and encouraging one another along the way, she was reminded that everyone learns at their own pace. It's a perspective she'll carry back to her classroom this September, continuing to support every student with patience, encouragement, and care.
"Everyone learns at their own pace. Sometimes the most important thing is simply to keep moving forward."

Enjoying the sunshine this summer? So are we, and it's got us looking ahead to another season of Outdoor Education this September!
Before this year's adventures begin, we're looking back at the unforgettable moments from last year's trips, where students built confidence, strengthened friendships, embraced new challenges, and discovered just how much learning can happen beyond the classroom.
Because some of the most meaningful experiences begin where the classroom ends.
💬 What camp are you going to in September?
