The DDSS Link Crew would like to warmly welcome and invite all incoming Grade 9 students to attend our Grade 9 Orientation Day!

This fun-filled afternoon has been organized by our senior student leaders to help you become familiar with life at Delhi District Secondary School. During orientation, you will learn about your classes, explore the school, receive your locker assignment, and have the opportunity to meet new friends before the first day of school.

Our Link Crew leaders have worked hard to create an exciting and welcoming experience to help make your transition to high school as smooth as possible. Each Grade 9 student will be paired with a senior student mentor who can answer questions, provide guidance, and help you feel more comfortable about starting high school. You will also participate in icebreaker activities, tour the school, meet future classmates, and learn what to expect during your first days at DDSS.

Orientation begins at 12:00 p.m. and concludes at 2:30 p.m.

Locker Information

Lockers will be assigned during orientation. Please bring a lock with you on this day. We recommend recording your combination and saving it in your phone or another safe place so that you have it readily available when school begins.

We will miss you Mr. Leatherland. ONCE A RAIDER ALWAYS A RAIDER!!!

In one of his final days as a full-time teacher, Dave Leatherland still had a few lessons to bestow upon the students at Delhi District Secondary School.

During the annual staff versus seniors softball game, Leatherland played lockdown defence and shortstop while also walloping a home run to deep right centre field.

As usual, he made it look easy.

Congratulations Heath!

Recently the Norfolk Historical Society awarded two scholarships to graduating students who will be pursuing a post-secondary education in the fall.

Last week, our President Kate van der Meer met up with scholarship recipient Heath Stefek.

Heath is graduating from Delhi District Secondary School and will be attending Wilfred Laurier University pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in History with the teaching option.

Congratulations Heath! Wishing you much success.

Congratulations Justin!

Like a few before him, Justin Van Der Kooi is set to swap blue and gold for red and black.
Earlier this year, standout Delhi Raiders lineman Justin Van Der Kooi announced his commitment to join the Guelph Gryphons and their stable of former Raiders next season.

The 6-foot-6, 285-pound Springford resident was described as a “cornerstone” player by Delhi District Second School football coach Marshall Greenham.

“He’s a true leader,” Greenham said. “He was an extremely important piece for us; we’re very much going to miss him next year."

Today was our co-op student Karen's last morning with us, and she will be missed more than she knows. ❤️
Karen has been an absolute pleasure to have as part of our team. She is hardworking, dedicated, and always willing to jump in and help wherever needed. Her positive attitude, laughter, and sense of fun brought so much joy to our workplace every day.
We are incredibly grateful for all of her hard work and the impact she has made during her time with us.
Karen, we wish you nothing but success and happiness.
Thank you for all the memories, the laughs, and for being such an important part of our team.

It was a nice surprise to have visitors from Delhi and Norwich high schools make a stop to take a picture with our 100ft Canadian flag as the school year comes to an end and they gear up for summer break! This has become an annual tradition.

DDSS is returning to New York City in December 2026. Registration information is available from Mrs. Pickard or Mrs. Pearson. There are still a few spots available but they will fill up quickly!
