Wow. What an incredible few days!!! I’m so excited to be part of the team bringing the Therapeutic Farm School to life as winners of the AIP (Arctic Inspiration Prize) $500,000 category. We are now officially AIP Laureates 😊 from the 12th AIP!! It’s an honour to have won and an honour to have been part of such an inspirational few days.
I’m so looking forward to diving in and getting things up and running for kids for the fall.
Read more about the Therapeutic Farm School:
🐮The Therapeutic Farm School program is designed for K-12 students with disabilities in Yukon, particularly those with neurodiversity such as Autism, ADHD, and other cognitive delays. The program will encompass learning through experiential means, on the land from a First Nations perspective, with a combination of therapeutic supports.
🐴This type of learning will help students to practice self regulation strategies that can be generalized to a classroom setting and assist students in making more meaningful connections, supporting positive mental health, and learning experiences.

Have you ever realized your health is not where it should be? And worse, that you’ve known it a long time...much too long? And then felt guilty you haven’t done anything about it yet? And shame for your low will-power?
Well I have experienced all those feelings, and if you have too you are not alone.
In January I realized it was just TIME. Over recent years I’ve lost too many people who were too young to go and it really hits home that life is so short. I made a decision that I was going to prioritize me. For myself, and for my little one, and my family. I was not going to aim to be perfect, I was going to make small changes, with imperfect consistency to make sustainable lifestyle changes to better health, weight and energy.
Tricky thing is, when you are not in good health it can be hard to make those changes as your body is not in a healthy place. Your body might fight you as you don’t have energy. You crave bad foods, maybe you don’t sleep as well as you should. So be kind to yourself and help yourself. Make changes that will be easier for you to start with so that you can use gains from that towards other changes. e.g. When you have energy instead of feeling sluggish from eating better foods and getting more sleep you will be better able to include some exercise.
Some of the easy changes I made to start:
⭐️ Started the R3 eating plan. I did this for 3 weeks before I added exercise
⭐️ Started having protein in the first hour of the day as well as taking Berberine to help weight management, liver function & blood sugar (store in link)
⭐️ Began taking key supplements consistently
With these changes, my cravings disappeared! I’ve been eating crappy food a while, this was a big one. I didn’t have to fight evening cravings for crap food, they disappeared!
I'm 10lbs down, maintained it through a rough March personally and am heading into my next 5lbs loss after getting myself back into a good routine.
How about you? What do you want to improve about your health?

Even if you don't see immediate results, every effort you put into supporting your child while on the autism waitlist is making a lasting impact. Keep going and ✨trust the journey✨
