Raiders football season will be starting soon! These young men attended the Huskies Football Camp at Griffith Stadium Aug 10 -13. We can’t wait to see the skills they learned used on the field. Let’s Go Raiders! We will be back in action very soon💙

Thanks to Sun West School Division No. 207, Davidson School was so fortunate to send 2 lucky Raiders to attend the incredible FACES program at Crowsnest Pass, Alberta. The week was full of physical and emotional challenges. Students, Sloane and McKinley, represented our community well as they persevered and showed grit throughout this 6 day adventure!

Join our football Coaching Staff! The season is short and sweet!
We would love to secure our coaching staff before heading into summer for both Junior and Senior Football this fall. We need a full staff (2-3) for our Juniors and would love to have 2-3 Assistant coaches join our 2 willing head coaches.

Our final graduate to celebrate for this school year is Josef Theodore Britania Yocte. Josef is the child of Brenda and Rodel Yocte. Josef joined this graduating class last year and has sung in the choir at the Catholic Church and the town Remembrance Day service. In the future he plans to investigate his options to study something in the field of chemistry and biology –possibly oncology or pharmacy. Josef received the following Davidson School graduation academic awards of excellence for finishing 30-level courses with final marks above 90%-- Chemistry 30 and Physics 30. At the graduation ceremony, Josef also received the following local scholarship: the Davidson Inter-Church Association Award. Josef finds unsymmetrical objects to be annoying to look at, as well as stepping on creaking tiles. He shares the advice—don’t hesitate, because next time is uncertain. We wish you the best in the future Josef, and we wish everyone a great summer!!

This is the last Monday of June and also our last day of graduate acknowledgements. We begin with Lucy Anne Woolhouse, who is the eldest child of Jeri-lyn and Garth Woolhouse. Lucy is a quiet yet creative student with innovative ideas who always displays kindness. She plans to work next year and possibly travel before applying to study dental hygiene. Lucy finds slow walkers annoying and gives the advice of never stopping. Best wishes in the future Lucy!

Our second graduate to celebrate today is Yulin Wu, who is the child of Jane Yang. Yulin joined this graduating class in the fall, coming from Wuhan, China. This fall, Yulin will complete his last couple of credits to fulfill Saskatchewan High School credit requirements and then plans to pursue education in the area of engineering. Yulin received the following Davidson School graduation academic awards of excellence for finishing 30-level courses with final marks above 90%--Math Pre-Calculus 30, Calculus 30, Chemistry 30, and Physics 30. Yulin finds it annoying when people do meaningless things and will remember the friendliness of students and staff at Davidson School.

Welcome to Friday, June 26, and our continued graduate celebrations. Our first grad for today is Aryonna Helen Ida Diane Taylor, who is the eldest child of Chantelle and Gord Taylor. During her years at Davidson School, she played volleyball, participated in drama, and was involved with the school leadership group. She has also been involved in musical pursuits in the community, playing piano, violin, and the ukulele. Aryonna plans to take a year to explore her options and then attend the University of Regina to work towards a Bachelor of Science in Biology. Aryonna received the following Davidson School graduation academic awards of excellence for finishing 30-level courses with final marks above 90%--Math Pre-Calculus 30 and History 30. Aryonna gives the advice of building good relationships with your teachers and asking questions to make sure you understand. It is important to listen and converse because you will learn a lot, and not just academically.

Our second graduate to celebrate today is Gracelyn Lauren Shaw, who is the eldest child of Carla and Jared Shaw. Gracelyn has played volleyball and basketball throughout high school and helped her team earn bronze at the 2A Volleyball Provincial Championships this past fall. This fall, she will be attending the University of Regina to study in the College of Education. Gracelyn received the following Davidson School graduation academic awards of excellence for finishing 30-level courses with final marks above 90%-- Math Foundations 30, Math Pre-Calculus 30, Calculus 30, Chemistry 30, Psychology 30, History 30, English Language Arts A 30 and B30, Physical Education 30, Life Transitions 30 (DLC), and Visual Arts 30 (DLC). The Most Deserving Student Award is designed to recognize a student who demonstrates outstanding dedication and commitment to their academic studies and their entire school experience. This student has consistently worked hard in all their classes and willingly accepts responsibility for their own learning. Gracelyn received the Most Deserving Student Graduation award for her hard work and dedication in her core classes taught by Davidson School teachers. At the graduation ceremony, Graceyln received the following locally sponsored scholarships: the Kinette Legacy Scholarship, the Scott Kergen Memorial Scholarship, the Davidson Dance Award, and the Midlakes Superannuated Teachers Scholarship. Her pet peeve is when students pack up their binders while the teacher is still talking, and she advises coming to school and getting your work done so you aren’t spending so much time at home doing it.

Today is the last day of school for students at Davidson School, but we still have several more graduates to celebrate! Up first today is Rion Racuya Sandoval, who is the son of Cristy and Marlon Sandoval. During his high school years, he played volleyball, badminton—mixed doubles with his sister Rian and won the Remembrance Day Black and white art contest every year, including this year. Rion plans to work next year and then apply to attend the University of Saskatchewan in the College of Kinesiology to become a physical therapist. Rion received the following Davidson School graduation academic awards of excellence for finishing 30-level courses with final marks above 90: Physical Education 30, Visual Arts 30 (DLC), and Food Studies 30. The Fine Arts Award is designed to recognize students who participate and share their talents in artistic ways within the school in a variety of activities and who demonstrate exceptional commitment to all of those activities. Rion received the Fine Arts Gradation Award for his passion for visual arts. Rion becomes annoyed by micro-aggressive people who do not think before they speak and shares the advice of Frank Ocean—if you think about it, it will be over in no time, and that’s life. engineering.
