Happy Friday Raider Fans,

As mentioned last Sunday, there will not be a Sunday sports post this week due to the long weekend. However, here is a quick recap of our shorter week in sports at Davidson School.

Volleyball and football continue with practices and exhibition play at all levels.

Our cross country team which consists of many runners from elementary school to high school competed at districts in Biggar this past Wednesday-they had a great day with many strong finishes-the love of distance running is growing at Davidson School thanks to the dedication of coaches, parents, and supporters. We would like to thank Biggar for running the meet and wish Sloane W best of luck as she gets ready to tackle the cross-country course that will be plotted out at Table Mountain near North Battleford at the SHSAA Provincial Meet next week.

Good morning Raider sports fans and welcome to the first weekend report for October.

It was a busy week at all levels of volleyball as well as cross-country and football.

The jr and sr football teams travelled to Assinabioa Friday afternoon-this was the first game for the jrs and fourth game for sr as they head into the final weeks of their season.

Our cross-country team travelled to Outlook for their meet and will attend Districts in Biggar this week-good luck runners!!

In volleyball our 7/8 girls travelled to Imperial and split into two teams, playing well to place third at the tournament. Our grade 9 girls hosted their home tournament and faced some very strong teams which will help us continue to improve as we enter the second half of our season. The jr boys invaded the nest at the Elrose tournament, placing first in their pool and but were defeated in the semi-final. Our sr boys travelled to Cabri and worked hard against some tough teams. Our sr b girls travelled to LCBI, playing well together to earn top spot in their pool, and placed fourth in the semi-finals. Lastly, our sr a girls travelled to the annual Harvest City tournament in Regina and for the third year in a row battled MooseJaw Cornerstone in the championship game to earn the title.

Good work Raider Athletes and thanks once again to all our fans and parent supporters.

Next weekend will be Thanksgiving so our sports post will occur on Friday. As well, feel free to join us on our annual school Terry Fox run/walk this coming Thursday at 11am which will start out in front of the school.

4 students and an advisor spent 3 days in Nipawin attending the Come Back Tour of SSLC! Mrs. Epp along with Cecily Willner, Izzy Alexander, Eliana Dahl and Sloane Willner spent the days learning about how to be amazing leaders in our school!! Watch for some fun new events at Davidson School!

🍂 SASKATCHEWAN LIBRARY WEEK with LEGO in the School Library from 3:20 until 4:20pm and the “Reasons You Love Reading” contest due on Oct 16 to potentially win some Scholastic Book Fair spending money
- LEGO Tuesday, Oct 13 is for Grade 4+
- LEGO Wednesday, Oct 14 is for Grades 1 and K with a caregiver present
- LEGO Thursday, Oct 15 is for Grades 2 & 3
- LEGO Friday, Oct 16 is for Grades 4+

📚Scholastic Book Fair from October 20 to 22 (Family Nights on Oct 20 and 21 to enter for door prize draw!)
- student browsing Monday and Tuesday during library times
- Tuesday at 3:20pm sales open until 5:00pm
- Wednesday, Thursday sales continue from 3:20 to 7:00pm
