Stories on the Ice - Student Design Challenge!

We’re excited to invite MVSD students to take part in our Stories on the Ice Student Design Challenge!

Our four ice-fishing shacks were built by DRCSS high school carpentry students, with the wood stoves built by DRCSS welding students. The shacks were used in our land-based learning programming last winter, and now we’d like students to help bring them to life with original artwork.

Four winning designs will be selected, and the winning students or teams will have the opportunity to help paint their designs onto the shacks.

Students may enter individually, with a partner, in a small group, or as a class. The student design template is available at our MVSD schools.

Submission deadline: October 23, 2026
