🎉💛 Shoutout to the amazing team at Dalmeny Daycare! 💛🎉

Today we want to celebrate the incredible staff who make our centre such a special place each and every day. From early morning smiles to end-of-day hugs, you bring patience, kindness, creativity, laughter, and so much care to everything you do.

You are the builders of blanket forts, the masters of snack time, the champions of story time, the cleaners of mysterious messes, and the superheroes who keep little minds learning and growing.

Thank you for the energy, love, and dedication you pour into our children and families. Dalmeny Daycare simply wouldn’t be the same without each and every one of you.

We appreciate you more than words can say… and probably more than coffee can fuel! ☕😉

We have a meeting scheduled with Hon. Jaime Martens on Monday, May 18 at 3:00 PM at our centre to discuss the upcoming changes to the Parent Fee Grant distribution taking effect July 1.

During this meeting, we will be sharing the very real impact these changes will have — not only on our centre, but on the families in our community and the childcare sector across Saskatchewan as a whole.

These funding changes will significantly affect the sustainability of childcare centres, staffing levels, accessibility for families, and the quality of care we are able to provide. We believe it is important that the voices of childcare providers and families are heard as these decisions are being made.

We would also like to invite any families, educators, or community members who are interested in attending the meeting and showing their support for childcare in Saskatchewan. The more voices that are heard, the stronger the message will be about the importance of accessible, sustainable, high-quality childcare for our communities.

We appreciate the opportunity to have this conversation and advocate for the children, families, and educators who rely on childcare every day. Jamie Martens-MLA, Martensville-Blairmore

Ever notice how kids LOVE taking things apart? Toys, gadgets, anything they can get their hands on 🔧

Instead of stopping them, what if we leaned into it?

Taking things apart is actually one of the best ways children learn. It builds curiosity, problem-solving skills, and confidence. They start to understand how things work, how pieces fit together, and what happens when something changes. It’s hands-on learning at its finest.

It also encourages persistence. Not everything comes apart easily, and not everything goes back together the same way—and that’s okay. There’s so much value in the trying, the figuring out, and even the “oops” moments.

So next time your child wants to dismantle an old toy or explore how something works, consider giving them a safe space (and maybe a screwdriver 😉). You might be surprised at how much learning is happening in the process.

Curious minds don’t just build things… they take them apart first 💡
