In 2020 we took a trip across the US in the . We rode everywhere, from Massachusets to Park City, Moab to Crested Butte, Tahoe, and Bellingham.

A few years ago I wouldn't have found all the fantastic trails I did.

is a great tool and has opened access to trails for the masses.

But the masses make messes.

With this access comes responsibility.

As a mountain biker, you represent everyone who rides a bike.

The trails are for everyone, so please treat the environment and other trail users respectfully.

If you see litter pick it up, and if you don't have Trailforks yet - do yourself a favor and go get it!

I grew up on a bike in the woods well before cell phones, and I used my bike every day to get out of 'parent-range' and go exploring.

I learned early on how bikes could help you cover great distances and discover unique places that you couldn't get to any other way.

I was hooked! And 30 years later, I still kinda do that, just greater distances and uniqer 😏 places.

I might not sound like from around these parts, but I'm here on the mountain bike paradise that is Vancouver Island!

It’s a magical feeling when you are riding at your limit.

When you are totally taken to another dimension when there is no room in your brain for anything else, where nothing matters - except staying on your bike.

It is total freedom. As close to flying as you can get.

I started goatEmtb because I want to help people experience this same feeling.

Meet Alex!

Alex first got on a mountain bike in 2014 and has been refining her skills over the years. It took some time, but by riding regularly and working on small, simple changes, she has developed from a complete to a capable , able to negotiate all kinds of terrain.

There is no way to escape the time and effort required to develop and improve your riding skills - becoming a confident rider takes a lot of practice - but it helps if you practice the right things!

I’ve worked with people of all ages and levels to improve bike skills and trail confidence.

Hey, shredders - Sam here, founder of GoatEmtb. I have been mountain biking for 30 years and used to race xc, DH, enduro and on the road.

Today, I'm now experiencing the bike in a new way - on my from , and I'm not shy about telling people how freeing an is, but I love riding with anyone and am happy to turn town the power and do social ‘acoustic rides’!

I still get stoked every time I go riding - and nothing makes me happier than getting other people stoked on bikes too.

I’m really excited to offer tailored mountain bike & eMTB instruction in 1-on-1 or group sessions from beginner to intermediate, and advanced riders here in the heart of the Comox Valley here on Vancouver Island.

I was always on a bike as a kid.

I had to ride on busy roads to get to school, so I always enjoyed the peace I found in the woods, away from the no-bike-lane streets and the noisy, smelly cars.

I still love getting into the woods and away from the traffic.

Today, I love to share my passion through guiding and coaching: Let me be your guide on your journey to a healthier, more active life, by developing mountain bike skills, and life hacks that will improve your riding, strength, flexibility, diet, and sleep patterns.
