As I hike up this hill I contemplate the similarity between my muscles and teamwork... Yes teamwork!
I broke my ankle 2 years ago and still struggle a bit with pain but am also amazed that the body can heal to almost perfect balance.
Each muscle, tendon, ligament, lungs, heart, etc have to work in unison to get me up this hill. Maybe some compensate for the others, and maybe some will be tired when I get back down. But the together with my own perseverence and passion they allowed me to get up to see this spectacular view with these little hiking companions. If my ankle was still broken, I would not have been able to get up this mountain without some external help.
Just like muscles in the body, teams need to work in unison. Sometimes some members compensate for others and some have to work hard to keep up with the team vision, passion and goals. But when one or two or the entire team is broken or struggling, the company, organization or family will not move towards their vision. Especially not passionately. That is when the company needs to reach out for external help instead of continuing to remain dysfunctional.
Engaging in team building is often seen as too much money, time, unnecessary. Physical exercise of the human body is also sometimes seen the same.
I prefer this view personally 😁. Dare to exercise your team. Dare to find your passion again. Dare to find function and success.
I can help!
