Being able to play an instrument has helped me through so many emotional ups and downs. I’m not great at expressing how I feel verbally, but when I sit down at the piano it can speak for me.
Research proves that music is a language our spirit speaks. Maybe that’s why God asks us to praise Him with voice and instrument :)
Music is a language only a few may learn to speak, but somehow, every heart understands it. 🎹🤍
If I can give a child the gift of music, confidence, creativity, and a way to express what words sometimes can’t, then I’ll consider it a privilege.
Kids are the best! They have taught me so many things. I love that I get to teach them my favourite thing in the world and get to be part of their lives 🥹

Here’s what I have learned from 10+ years of teaching piano: Learning how to sight read (reading notes while you play) can be difficult. There’s a lot of multitasking. But these three techniques have made a world of difference for me and my students!

Learning piano isn’t about being perfect—it’s about making progress. If writing note names helps you understand your music and keeps you motivated to practice, that’s a win. Over time, you’ll recognize notes more quickly and won’t need the reminders as much. Keep playing, keep learning, and give yourself permission to use the tools that help you grow. 🎹💕
It’s never the gifts or grand gestures, it’s knowing that the time, patience, and encouragement made a difference. These handwritten notes remind me why I love teaching piano.
