THROWBACK THURSDAY!
This photo was taken on our very first day at Politécnica de Santa Rosa in 2022, at the start of a one-month field trip to Mexico!

Students from both the Communication Design Diploma and Web + Mobile Application Development Diploma programs worked alongside local students in teams to design and develop mobile apps together.

A pretty amazing way to learn, collaborate, and experience another culture—and one of those trips I’ll never forget! 🌎📱

MEET Kirsten Simic!

Kirsten is a 2026 Communication Design Diploma graduate currently employed as an Instructional Designer at Navacord.

For her graduating capstone project, Kirsten created Fated Wick, a boutique candle brand inspired by Greek mythology and designed to turn a simple purchase into a more immersive, story-driven experience. Rather than choosing a specific candle, customers receive one selected by fate—adding a sense of mystery and anticipation to the experience.

Such a distinctive concept with a beautifully illustrated, mythology-inspired visual identity! ✨

CONGRATULATIONS! to Stephen Yin, Digital Design + Development Post-Graduate Diploma graduate, on his new position as Software Engineer at Quester Tangent!

This is the second of this year’s development grads that Quester Tangent has scooped up, and I couldn’t applaud their decision more. Stephen (Hang) is fantastic, and we're so excited to see where this opportunity takes him!

Congratulations, Stephen! 👏

THROWBACK THURSDAY!
Remember this photo of the Boleyn Media team in 2021? Over the years, Jos and Alison Bell have hired many of our graduates, including Communication Design Diploma graduates Dale Garcia and Jayda Loose, as well as Web and Mobile Development Diploma graduates Liam Quinn and most recently, Jessica JP Jocelyn Pelletier.

It takes a special kind of mentoring spirit to bring new talent onto your team and give emerging designers and developers the support, guidance, and tools they need to succeed.

We’re so grateful to see our graduates continue to find opportunities with employers who invest in their growth. 🙌

THROWBACK THURSDAY!
I came across this awesome gig poster design by Tawnie van den Born when she was a student in the Communication Design Diploma. Great vibe. Love the neon! 🦄

PACKAGING DESIGN! Preparing materials for my Graphic Design and Branding course this fall, I came across this packaging design by Communication Design Diploma graduate Erin Kenny, now the Associate Director, Marketing & Future Students at North Island College, from when she was a student.

I love this one - the vintage apothecary/medical aesthetic, the mix of label styles, the typography ... all the little details. 🌟
