Diet Culture Is More Toxic Than We Realize — for All of Us 07/11/2019

One of the biggest barriers to counselling those with disordered relationships with food, body, and exercise is our society's acceptance of pro-anorexic culture (i.e. diet culture). The beliefs that keep people trapped in the cycle of dieting and exercise abuse are overwhelming at times. BUT...once you are aware of them, you start seeing them everywhere.

Diet Culture Is More Toxic Than We Realize — for All of Us Being thin does not make you healthy. Or happy.

Keto, carb free, sugar free, vegan, vegetarian, or whatever you decide to restrict or eliminate....it's all restrictive eating and promotes disordered relationships with food.

Diets come in all disguises.

Athletes 'under-fuelling' health worry 05/08/2019

The culture of competitive sport is riddled with eating disorders and exercise abuse (just masked in something that is socially celebrated).

Here I am today, 41 years of age and in the best shape of my life FISTPUMP. The old me (before learning to embrace) would of seen the jiggly pudding around my belly and felt disgusted….and embarrassed and mortified and inglorious. These days I feel nothing but empowered, inspired and grateful, I am not sure I could love this body any more than I do, I love her hard – unconditionally and unapologetically.

Body acceptance doesn’t come from changing the body, it comes from changing the mind. There is no greater transformation than the transformation of the mind. When you let go of the dark passenger in your head and replace her with Gloria Gaynor singing I will survive, high-fiving your every move and always having your back no matter what you look like or the size of your dress, life is sweet and feels magical.

This magic I want for everyone on the planet and most importantly I want it for the next generation, who are finding it very hard to embrace their bodies...

If you love what Embrace is all about and want to pass the gift of this radical self-love and joy onto the next generation, please head to the link below.

I am from the ground up, (desperately) trying to finance the next doco for kids. Once financed, we will go into production, make the film and then give it to schools as a FREE resource.

Team, I can’t do this without you, please activate, if everyone gave $1 we’d reach the target!
I’m taking a social media break for a few days, so I’m handing over the Embrace Kids doco mission to you all... When I get back I hope it takes me hours trawling through (and Thanking) all of YOU who made a small contribution!

Much love and Thanks Taryn Brumfitt xo

When you aren't sick enough to get care...where do you go?

EDNOS (a.k.a. Not Sick Enough) What happens to someone who hasn’t eaten or taken in fluids for over three days? What happens when it becomes almost traumatizing to chew solid food? More importantly, what happens when someo…
