🐟 The Puntledge River Hatchery is holding their annual Open House on Sunday, October 18 where you can get up close and personal with salmon returning up river from the ocean! 🌊

🙋Project Watershed will be attending this fun, family-friendly event along with many other local groups who care about salmon, and we are looking for volunteers to guide attendees through hands-on activities and games at our booth and share information about our work.

🧡 National Day for Truth and Reconciliation 🧡
On September 30th, we take time to listen, learn and remember.

Project Watershed aims to support and further the stewardship of the lands and waters of the traditional, unceded territory of the K’ómoks First Nation. But caring for a place also means understanding its history, respecting Indigenous knowledge and leadership, and recognizing that reconciliation is an ongoing journey.

On September 30, we honour residential school Survivors, remember the children who never returned home, and encourage our community to listen, learn and take part.

If you're looking for a way to mark the day locally, consider taking part in the Comox Valley Spirit Walk at 10am in Lewis Park (https://www.facebook.com/events/lewis-park-courtenay-bc/comox-valley-spirit-walk/1974737819878023/). It’s an opportunity to come together, learn and reflect in community. 🧡
