Adult and Teen classes start soon! This year I am only able to run adult classes one day a week, but I will have some great classes to offer. Tuesday nights will be the adult painting night- these classes are still open to teens but typically have mostly adults attending. There are lots of options for the teens this year too! COUPON....

Mammals of the Sea - Summer Camp | Art Adventures We will be re-creating this image of an array of Mammals in this sea following step by step instructions that make painting accessible to all skill levels. One of the featured projects for this camp is that everyone will get to help to paint a mural on the brick wall of the art studio! With guidance...

~After school fall registration is open for children and teens~

It’s already that time of year when we start transitioning back into the fall school season, and I have lots to offer at Art Adventures for children and teens!

Here is the after school schedule from 330-530:

~Mondays- Ages 10+ After School for teens
~Tuesdays - after school class Ages 5–12
~Wednesdays -after school class for Ages 5–12
~Thursdays - Ages 5–12 Drawing-Focused Series

All of the after-school programs begin with guided, step-by-step instruction, where students develop their painting and art-making techniques while working on detailed projects.

During the second half of class, students have creative free time to follow their own interests and explore a variety of mediums, including sculpture, needle felting, jewelry making, cosplay creation, mixed media and more.

I love giving kids the opportunity to build strong artistic skills while also having the freedom to experiment, play and discover what kind of artist they want to be.

~Teen/Tween Classes Including Cosplay, Portrait Painting & More for age 10+!~

One of our biggest highlights this year was dressing up as our favourite Amazing Digital Circus characters! Imagine 17 teenagers parading through downtown before ending up at Jubilee Square, where we recreated scenes and songs from the show. It was such a fun and memorable day!

I'm so happy to have a growing number of teens attending classes, especially since many of them first came to Art Adventures as little kids and have now grown into young adults. It's been amazing to watch them grow, and I'm excited to offer even more creative opportunities designed just for teens this fall!

This fall offerings:

~ Weekly Cosplay Class (Ages 10+) – A brand new class where teens can create costumes, props, accessories, and bring their favourite characters to life.

~ Monday After School Teen Class (Ages 10+) – Explore a variety of art mediums while creating alongside other creative teens.

~ Thursday Portrait Painting Series (Ages 11+) – Perfect for teens wanting to strengthen their drawing and painting skills.

~TGIF Teen Art Jam (Ages 10+) – Back by popular demand! Once a month we'll spend 3 hours making art, playing games, and hanging out with fellow artists.

~ Adult & Teen Tuesday Series – Teens are also welcome to join these classes. Check the website for current projects and registration.

~Dandy's World Summer Camp – 2 spots still available! Includes cosplay, themed art projects, and plenty of creative fun.

All classes can be booked as a 5-week session or as a 3- or 6-month registration at a reduced rate. I encourage longer sign-ups because they help teens build friendships, grow their artistic skills, and become part of a supportive creative community.

Public cosplay- Guess who's running the show?
Come see the Amazing Digital Circus cosplay starring 17 teens(more not in this photo) and one crazy teacher as frenchmaid Jax!
We'll be parading through Courtenay down 5th street with the music pumpin and end up at the Jubilee square where we'll do some scenes, some of which include song and dance.

What to expect: Cosplay is when fans create and wear costumes inspired by characters they love from shows, movies, games, comics, and more. Some people also enjoy acting in character or recreating scenes, but many simply enjoy the creative process of making and wearing their costumes. Cosplay is a celebration of creativity, craftsmanship, self-expression, and the joy of bringing beloved characters to life. For some people, it's also a fun way to explore different styles, personalities, or gender expression.

I have lots to offer for all ages! I'm so grateful for the growing number of teens at Art Adventures and have added more teen options including a cosplay class!

The new improvement is that all of my after school classes can be booked for short or longer periods of time with discounted rates for longer sign ups. This saves you money and helps to create a strong community aspect to the classes as the kids get a chance to develop relationships over longer periods.
You can register now for a $75 deposit to save your spot and then pay by monthly invoicing.

I have added a new fun COSPLAY class for the tweens who have been passionate about embodying characters from Amazing Digital Circus, and other shows/games like Dandy's world, really excited about the fun we will have!

~"Generations Gateway" in the Walls of ART SHOW this Saturday- 16 artists!! ~
In this image Generations Gateway, an eye weeps the pain of the past while flames rise through the transformation of old energies and karma. The eye is the gateway for future generations to come. As we do the work on ourselves to heal our past pain, we clear the way for those who come after us.

The tree echoes the symbolism of the Turtle Island story. With roots reaching deep into the Earth, it grounds the healing and transformation of old energies, reminding us that what we heal today becomes the foundation upon which future generations will stand. The whales represent community, swimming freely together in harmony and reminding us that healing is a journey we share.
