Maria Montessori believed education was the most powerful and universal way through which to reconstruct society; a way to transition from war to peace. The Montessori classroom creates an environment that promotes the development of peaceful individuals.
The Montessori teacher sets the framework for the understanding that all living creatures are important and interconnected, the child is encouraged to become the peacemaker. They begin to see everything as one, which is the goal of Peace Education. The children learn how to work as a community, help one another, and talk to each other when there is a conflict.
Children come into this world with pure love and light in their hearts. When this love is recognized and consistently reflected back to them, they are able to develop their fullest potential and become responsible citizens of the world.
